Re: When you were a child...
For me, it was an astronaut, but then I realized I may never get to be one due to me having a weak heart. I can't get on roller coasters because of this, so it's most likely I won't even be able to last through the tests that the astronauts have to go through before getting sent to space . Well, now that I've grown up and seen more opportunities, I want to be a businessman that can help people .
Nothing to see here, folks. For now, anyway...

Kindergarten-ish: princess bunny police woman scientist inventor with a tiger sword. Don't ask me how that would work out ... But I already had the tiger sword:p
8-12: Actress or artist or chef.
13-ish : Doctor ( though the actress/artist thing hadn't faded yet), dancer ( though short lived as I have bad knees:/)
Now: For years I dreamt about auditioning for a drama school but I chickened out, so I 've decided to give it up.
I tried becoming a pastry chef but... It was way below my level and it just plain sucked. I now hate baking/ cooking lol.
I did an orientation course at an art school, they told me I had a great chance at being accepted... Despite numerous people in the past telling me I should go to art school (including professionals)/ telling me i should never stop making art, I chickened out. And I stopped making art.
This year I'm doing something called Advanced Sensor Applications ( Electrical Engineering). It's tough, 'cause i never really had technical subjects in high school.... But oh well. If I don't get kicked out, I'll finish it. It's entertaining when I get it, I love the close-knit community ( only 80 students in TOTAL, spanning over all four years) and I hope to combine it with art one day:p
So yeah... From princess bunny police womanscientist inventor with a tiger sword to electrical engineer specialised in sensors.. Lol.

I wanted to be a mermaid when I saw Ariel on tv. And then a singer to express feelings I couldn't express in mere words.

Train conductor. Aw hell yeah, I loved trains when I was a kid!
I still think trains are pretty cool, especially the sleek and fast ones in Japan and Europe that are like air planes on rail. Unfortunately, I don't see that many good ones in America.

Paleontologist.
I'm still a history nut, but I'm not really one who enjoys being hunched over something and being delicate. Still, it was a nice thought.

When I was six, I wanted to be a spy... >_> I was inspired by some movie that I forgot the name of and not to mention, I was inspired by the cartoon show totally spies and Kim Possible. Meh.
When I was eight, I wanted to be a doctor, but then I realized that visits to the hospital creep me out and I hate seeing dead bodies in real life.
When I was ten, I wanted to be a voice actressAnd I still want to be one up to now.
When I was thirteen, I wanted to be a flight stewardess.
When I was fourteen, I wanted to be a writer.
Fifteen, game designer and still a writer.
Sixteen, I wanted to work for localization companies, but then I realized that this seemed too far-fetched for me.
Now that I'm seventeen, I either want to be a lawyer or an ambassador.
Hopefully, I could choose between the two of them now, cause college is fast approaching and I don't know if I should take a pre-law course or international studies. >_>

I wanted to be Jackie Chan. I'm 33 now and I still want to be Jackie Chan.

The #renpy IRC channel is a great place to chat with other devs. Due to the nature of IRC and timezone differences, people probably won't reply right away.

Re: When you were a child...
My childhood dream was to become a magician. My goal was to be let into the Magic Castle. I actually did a lot of magic tricks, and forced my parents to sit through several shows. I got really frustrated when I couldn't do all the palming I wanted (due to having very small hands), so I gave up. Somewhere along the line, I played Myst and decided I was going to be a game maker instead. It's worked out okay so far.

Re: When you were a child...
I'm pretty sure my first goal was to be a singer. And a teacher.
Singer because music always helped me express what I would never be able to otherwise (comes with being kind of emotionally handicapped, I guess...xD) and teacher because...well, I was already used to school.
Then someday I realized that my singing sounds ike the wails of a dying hound and I found myself a new goal: Archeologist.
(I've always been interested in history, especially the Middle Ages and Ancient Rome and whatnot. The History Channel was like birthday and christmas rolled together.)
And now I'm completly at a loss, because I'll graduate in about a month and I have no idea what I want to do. (Unless the ritual works and I can form a contract with the devil that'll give me artistic skills so I can study game design, but he never listened to me before...)

But the whole ambassador and lawyer I would think that would go hand in hand.
I mean being ambassador is basically playing defensive political lawyer. So wouldn't it be good to go with international studies and have a bit of pre-law for an advantage for either becoming a lawyer or ambassador.

Wait, Kim Possible isn't that old, is it?
I'm seventeen, but I'm pretty sure KP wasn't around when I was six years old. Unless I was already writing fanfic then and I doubt that.

Re: When you were a child...
XD I've wanted to be a doctor since I was 8.
At age 12, I upgraded that to being a space surgeon (I imagined that was basically doing basic emergency surgeries on astronauts during long trips to Mars and the like...and get to see SPACE!).
I've since gone back to just being a doctor. XD No country has a fun enough looking space program anyway.
