Lux-Nero's Art Section (Requests Requested)
Lux-Nero's Art Section (Requests Requested)
I'm more of a Sprite artist and CG artist, but I still got a lot to learn.
I'd like some comments on these works and how I can improve.
And yeah, I know, there's a few familiar characters here, but... -shrugs-
Now for some of my sprites:
And a page from a comic I drew and wrote for a little.
I'd like some feedback if possible. I should also point out that I do cheap comissions on Deviantart. If anyone's interested, I'll post a link to where you can make a comission.

If you're taking requests, can I get Nanami from Academy Daze? You know where to find her details
I'm going to get off my soap-box now, and let you get back to your day.

You like Riders, so maybe do Iris and/or Firedancer's armoured forums, from Celestial Knight Iris(see link in sig)?
IMO the comic looks better than the other stuff. Some of the above stuff looks a bit too obviously vector traced or what have you and it looks like your original lineart is probably strong enough not to over-ride it(as opposed to "artists" like me where I have to cover it up ).

Re: Lux-Nero's Art Section (Requests Requested)
Oh, care to draw someone from Death Rule?
As for critique? Maybe try studying some anatomy books? It seems to me like your proportins and the like could use a bit of work. However, I will say that your style gives me that 1980's-1990's anime feel for some reason.
(And is that a gender-bent Chuck Greene I see?)

Your animals look pretty epic.
You might be able to improve your glasses. They look a bit awkward at times. Perhaps doing studies on how glasses sit on a face would be helpful.
I agree with Hijiri. You could improve your anatomy. Also, from your samples your faces seem a bit inconsistent, with some of the being significantly better than others.

(All projects currently on a hiatus of sorts. I blame life.)

Not really checking the forums any more due to time constraints, so if you want to contact me, PM. I'll get a notification and log in.
Also, I've been hit and run posting, which means I don't see many replies. If you want to respond to something I've said, also feel free to PM me.
NOTE: if you've got questions about vnovel or things like that, it's Leon that you should be contacting. Leon's been pretty much handling everything, but due to various reasons, I've had to withdraw entirely.

Re: Lux-Nero's Art Section (Requests Requested)
I appreciate the comments and critiques so far everyone, but I'll put a limit on the requests I'm going to work on. I'll post which ones I'm currently got scheduled/working on. Feel free to keep posting your requests, just wait for me to post again with what I'll have done.
1) Dark Spartan
2)Dollywitch
3) Hijiri
And speaking of Hijiri, that's actually Fuuka from Disgaea 4 cosplaying as Chuck Greene... After all, both use nail bats as their initial weapons, and they both smash zombies.

Request request
Can I have Giro-san if you're still free please?
And for critique, I agree with the people before me that you should study more about anatomy because it looks obviously they are off (*slap self* I don't have the right to tell people this ) And the face look a little too... rough, stiff. The beast looks cool though xD

Can I ask for Lucia from doppelganger? Link in my sig I think you should work on the head shape as they are a bit distorted, try looking for anatomical references in DA. Hope that helps!

Re: Lux-Nero's Art Section (Requests Requested)
If you want a critique, your anatomy needs work like everyone says and the placement of features on the faces are a bit off. one picture has the nose almost between the eyes. I would say you need to study facial structures and be more consistent with the face shapes.
My DEVIANTART=) contact me there for commisions or recruitment if you likey my art

Here's Dark Spartan's request.
So, here's the line up for requests at the moment:
1) Dollywitch
2) Hijiri (Anyone specific?)
3) Michiyo6918
I've got some other art, and to you guys talking about anatomy, can you be specific? Preferably with red ink?
Here's the art/Sprites:

Re: Lux-Nero's Art Section (Requests Requested)
Well, alright. Prepare yourself:
Box 1(Head):
The guy's head is literally a box. The male jawline can be blocky, but it still starts just passed the ear. (Look in the mirror and stare at your jawline, you'll see that it curves up towards your ears)
Box 2(Shoulder):
His position should make the shoulder slope downwards and be shorter than the shoulder that is towards us.
Box 3(Body)
Despite popular belief, males also have deph to their bodies, most of which is in the chest and hip area (if the guy is of average build).
Box 1(Face)
You've got the jawline correct this time, but the ears and position of the eyes are off.
Boxes 2 and 3(Arms)
The right(?) arm looks like it's broken, the way it's twisted and it looks uncomfortable because it looks like she's popping the arm forward and turning it back to rest on her hips (which is painful to do for a long period of time). The left arm is better, but if she's supposed to be resting both hands on her thighs, then it should be level to her other hand's position.
White line is the level the left(?) hand should be to align with the right(?) one.
Box 1(Face)
Problems with eye positions and the cheek bones, like above. Cheekbones do not just jot out into balls like that, unless it's broken. If you were aiming for a chubby face, it would be advised to make the face rounder, sort of like a baby's face.
Box 2(Ribbon)
Sad to say, but ribbons do not contour to our bodies. They have minds of their own. The ribbon might rest on her, but it shouldn't curve down her body like if it were a pattern on her clothes.
Box 3 (Elbow)
Depending on who you ask, the elbow should be either moved to the right(?) to line up with the shoulder, or removed entirely.
====
One more thing I would add is about your clothes: they're drawn like baggy clothes. While cothes do rumple with our movements, they usually don't ressemble baggy pants when we wear them, unless it's a huge, fluffy sweater, or they're really wearing baggy pants.
Disclaimer: I am not a trained artist, so I may be wrong about a few things.

Re: Lux-Nero's Art Section (Requests Requested)
Hijiri, I appreciate you taking the time out of the way, but I believe its a difference in style, and the guy has Muttonchops/sideburns, that would explain why the curve is hidden.
In any case, DollyWitch, here's your request. Its only a line art but, -shrugs-
I hope you enjoy it. So, the list is this
1) Hijiri (I'm still waiting for you to list a specific character)
2) Michiyo6918
3) Gear

Even with mutton chops, it still is noticeable since It rides the jawline. (Also, it looks like the chops are starting from behind the ear, not the hair line.Lux Nero wrote:Hijiri, I appreciate you taking the time out of the way, but I believe its a difference in style, and the guy has Muttonchops/sideburns, that would explain why the curve is hidden.
In that case, care to draw Abraham or George?(Abraham is the blonde guy at the very end of that group image on TFR's thread while George is the red-shirt guy with the rapist smile)Lux Nero wrote:1) Hijiri (I'm still waiting for you to list a specific character)

No. I've seen the roughs for most of these, and they're his own work.Sapphi wrote:Were any of these originally traced from existing images?Lux Nero wrote:I'm more of a Sprite artist and CG artist, but I still got a lot to learn.
