I like this logo, but you might want to do something about the end of the word "Love" since right now it sort of looks like the title is "Loves at the Laundromat". ^^;

Thank you so much for your input! I was worried people didn't see my inquiry. D':Camille wrote:I like this logo, but you might want to do something about the end of the word "Love" since right now it sort of looks like the title is "Loves at the Laundromat". ^^;
Is this better? :')

Much better! The end of the word now looks more obviously like a decoration and less like another letter. :3
Really cute logo, by the way. <3

Trying to design the main menu.
This was ehcs' attempt:
It looks like a website, hahaha.
And here are neko-niki's attempts:
It looks more like a game menu than ehcs'
(The sprites will be different but these were the only available ones for now...)
Can anyone share some tips on designing main menus? :')

Re: Love at the Laundromat [GxB][Romance, Comedy][Commercial
Our set deadline for finalizing the writing and dialogue is by June 22. That being said, we might not be able to update on the aesthetics of the game till then since the character artist is also the writer. >_< Hopefully the writing will be done before then but if not, please excuse the lack of updates.
We'll still be able to respond to any questions though and we more than welcome any sort of criticism that can help make the game or at least the art better.
If it isn't too much of a bother, we'd appreciate it very much if you could answer these questions:
1. Now that all the bachelors are up, can I ask if, based on appearances, are they're all 'datable' to you guys? If not, what could I change to make them better?
2. We'd like to know what people think of the logo, how to improve it, is it appealing, would you buy a game with a similar logo, etc etc?
Also if any of you have a better idea for a logo, we'd love to hear it! :'D
3. Can anyone share some tips about designing the main menu or critique the design studies posted on the 3rd page? :')

The art looks great. Logo, characters, everything...fantastic!
I keep thinking the individual on the left is a girl and the heroine of the game.
I don't think it's a "problem" so much as confusion on my part.

Yeah, I've received some comments that Eli looks like a girl so we'll need to fix that somehow. xD
Maybe we could ask ehcs to draw him in a different pose or something for the title screen. ;_;

Perhaps it would be good to adjust Eli's facial features a bit if him looking like a girl is that big of a deal. Something like making the nose a little bigger and changing the jaw/cheek shape a tiny bit.Nische wrote: Thank you very much! :'D

It's not that big a deal, the number of people who like Eli greatly number the ones who think he looks like a girl, hahaha. But I'll take your advise. :')Nuxill wrote:Perhaps it would be good to adjust Eli's facial features a bit if him looking like a girl is that big of a deal. Eli would probably do better with a more defined nose and a less rounded jaw.
Thank you so much for your input! :'D

Re: Love at the Laundromat [GxB][Romance, Comedy][Commercial
Note on the time limit of the game:
We weren't specific about the time limits of the game because we were still unsure on how to proceed. We said that the player would have a year to pursue their selected bachelor but what we failed to specify was whether the year would be treated as 12 months or 4 months. To those of you who are familiar with Harvest Moon or Rune Factory, we were planning a similar calendar to that. The year will consist of 4 months and each month will be referred to the season they fall under; mainly: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. We believed that giving the player a full 12 months would make the game much too easy and dragging. Though the 12 months system would work to our advantage because we're keen on adding extra 'for fun' scenes, jealousy scenes, and bachelor scenes, we didn't want to make the game easy. We're leaning towards keeping a 4 month system instead, at least this way each play through can equal to completely different scenes and encounters (aside from the main Lynn story that the player will have to play through.)
We'd like to hear the players opinion on this though. Would 12 months be too easy? Is 4 months to short for you? How long is just right?
Sorry for all the questions, we just want to make sure we make something the players would like. :')

Oh, I thought that was going to be one of the CGs in the game before I read what you wrote, haha.
Honestly that makes me adore Eli even more. It's settled - I love him. xD
I hope if you do decide to change him, it's not too drastic. I like him just the way he is honestly...
Also, I like the idea of the four months = a year thing. I always thought it worked well in Rune Factory, much better than 12 months would. And you certainly don't want the game to drag. So I'm all for the four months idea ^^

Hahahaha, sadly it is not. xDteacup wrote:Oh, I thought that was going to be one of the CGs in the game before I read what you wrote, haha.

Though I'd love to have *neko-niki draw the CGs, the art style might be too inconsistent. >:
Besides, *neko-niki will be busy working on one of our other projects so she won't have the time to draw for both that and this. *A*
It won't be drastic! Just like his nose or something, hahahaha. It's tiny in the sprite of him but it's normal on *neko-niki's fanart. We'll probably just change to sprite to how *neko-niki drew it. :')
I can't imagine Rune factory or harvest moon having all 12 months. *A*
I'd never get passed year 1, hahahaha.
Thanks for your input! They're always very helpful. *A*
