Cinders - (PC/Mac/Steam/Switch/PS4/Xbox) [commercial]

#1 Post by TeeGee »

Hey everyone :). Cinders is finally out, after more than a year of development! It's been a wild ride but we hope it was worth the wait. The game is commercial, but there's a free demo available. Check it out. We tried to take a slightly different route with this one, so I'm very curious to learn what you think.

Cinders takes a look at four women and what made them who they are. It’s a story about freedom, dreams, sisterhood, and finding your own Happily Ever After that may not exactly agree with the stale morals of classic fairytales.

The game focuses on characters and their motivations, and is heavy on player choices and role-playing. With 120 decision points and over 300 options to choose from, Cinders allows you to shape the main character’s personality and the course of the story.

Hot damn, downloaded the demo...this is probably the best looking VN I've ever played. It has the production quality of Fable. Super rich, amazing attention to detail, music, everything. I cannot tell you how impressed I am.

I downloaded the Mac Version and am notice there's a bit of slow down as my computer struggles to keep up with animation. (2ghz macbook). I suppose I should probably turn off all my other apps to play this! (A first for a VN).

I know I sound like a broken record on these forums, but I hope you guys do well enough that you release for iOS. I'm guessing the iOS market will eat something like this up. The types of players who would play this game are DYING for something like this on iOS. Like, literally wanting to throw you their money. This game has a high enough production quality that it will snag people who don't normally play VNs.

I'd seriously consider a Kickstarter to get the development money for an iOS port. You have your first iOS backer right here!

Thanks! Kickstarter unfortunately only accepts US-based projects, because they are major twats like that ;). We're considering doing an iOS port anyway though, depending on how well it does on Mac/PC.

I downloaded and played the demo, and I think my first reaction was, "This is beautiful." The art is gorgeous, especially the characters. I love the gameplay and the graphics, and the writing is really realistic. I just adore it. I will definitely be buying the game in the next day or two. Congrats on finishing it! :D

I pre-ordered it, downloaded and installed the first version, but was unable to update the game. Do I just download and unlock a demo, or is the process more complicated?

Bought and playing through right now :)

I love the art and non-linear storyline that lets me really shape the story. Beautiful game, I'm really enjoying it. I'll comment back later after finishing, but I just had to post and say, this was well worth the wait.

Your game is amazing thus far (I have not finished, but I REALLY want to say what I think). I love it! The art, as mentioned before, is far above par. The writing's great so far and I adore the speeds at which the words are shown, like if someone's angry it will go faster. A very nice little feature.

The biggest virtue of this game is the way the choices are done. About a month ago I found your project then looked around your blog and saw the post about character decisions. AHHHHH I LOVED THAT POST AHHHH (sorry lol). The game stays true your ideas. It's really the truest way to make a VN.

Love the game,
Lylalie
