About 2 months ago I launched visualnovels.nl, a website on visual novels, targeted at a Dutch audience. As for now, we post news for an all-ages audiences, but we plan to include reviews, articles, and a NSFW (18+)-section. Also, we plan to translate some of the community's best games to Dutch. Ambitious? A little, maybe (but it's my project and I enjoy working on it)
Introductions aside, these are some things I'm wondering:
Should I mention it everytime I write a post about a game here? As it could be considered spam...
Would developers appreciate a way to contact us (writers, reviewers, translators) directly? I read the forums (and other news sources) daily, but it might be useful to contact us for review requests etc (don't hesitate, we'd love to!)
Hey, you guys mentioned TWCC the other day O: I didn't even know about it till a friend of mine showed me, then I totally flipped and told the rest of the team, then they flipped too.
The moral of this story is That shows how excited people can get when review blogs like yours features them without even asking for a mention. When you do stuff like that, totally give the people in question a heads-up! I think one of the other VN reviewing blogs would post on the Completed Games thread when they had a review for it, and I thought that was considerate of them. Groups would love to contact you for stuff like that, leave some info out for them and they'll poke you when the time comes.
Completed: Metropolitan Blues, The Loyal Kinsman, Daemonophilia, The Dreaming, The Thirteenth Year, Adrift, Bionic Heart 2, Secrets of the Wolf, The Photographer
Projects: The Pilgrim's Path, Elspeth's Garden, Secret Adventure Game!
"Dutch realize they suck at football; make visual novels instead"
No, seriously, it's a great idea spreading visual novels in your country, and I wish you the best of luck with your site and your translation projects. I'm certain the devs here would love it if you notified them of your coverage of LSF games, and I think the perfect way to do it would be, as CheeryMoya suggested, by making a short posting in the respective Completed Games thread. No one's going to accuse you of spamming if you point some attention towards the games from this community.
Well, I just started out a month ago, there isn't a lot of content yet, and Vn's are virtually unknown in the Netherlands... so it's small. I hope that will pick up once I've got some more reviews online, launch the nsfw-section and find out how to get some publicity for this website.
Completed: Metropolitan Blues, The Loyal Kinsman, Daemonophilia, The Dreaming, The Thirteenth Year, Adrift, Bionic Heart 2, Secrets of the Wolf, The Photographer

Nice work on the Mesut Özil sprite. Your GUI is a little bland, though ^_^
Applegate raised an interesting question, though. Seeing that the VN fanbase in most country is an offshoot of the anime/manga fanbase, how large is the anime/manga fanbase in the Netherlands? We have quite a large one in Germany, though I must confess that the only Dutch anime fan I know is Faber van Kraanen, several-times Legend of the Five Rings CCG champion, and I only know he likes anime because pretty much every player of said CCG is an anime fan.
Heh, I honestly don't know, I'm not that into anime and manga myself. There are some dutch communities though and we've got our share of conventions too. Maybe I should pay a little more attention to those...
