blue-forest.sakura?

#1 Post by Starshine »

Does anyone know about blue-forest.sakura's character game creation? I was messing on google looking for anime visual novel character creators and i came across a website called Dlsite which is obviously a adult website. Although all these are G-rated on the website. Has anyone ever brought any of these products? If so what are they like? All i can figure out is that after you have created the character they save as PSD files.

Now basically i'm not quite sure but i think these are only available in Japan... although i did see the doller sign pop up a few times so i'm confused. If people could get ahold of these creators they wouldn't need to worry about drawing the art for games they create.

Here are the G-rated products, the mature ones of the site are filtered with Mature, so dont click them, and a hint to the mature ones most likley involve nudity.

Well if it works out great please let me know. I did sign up with the website, although i'm really not good with dollers so i really dont wanna end up maxing out my credit card, due to not understand the equivalent of dollers. I think i understand a little more about the website, reminds me of Gaia, becuse you can buy points to buy some of the items on the actual site and the items actually download straight from the webpage aka (Direct Download). If it worked well for you, i'm going to buy ,1000 points (1,000 JPY; approx. 12 US$) then i can buy one of the character creators which costs 100 points, as it stated on the site.

I'd also have to keep in mind that "SOME" japanese games dont work on western computers. Some games allow you to play Japanese games with certain settings, others might be quite different, so be careful:

There have already been several games released using these resources - see:

The Stolen Diamond Ring
Curse of Slate Rock Manor

They're certainly usable, but a lot of people will recognise them, too.

DLsite's english side is intended to be used by western audiences. You don't have to buy points, you can just buy things directly, but due to international money processing tangles sometimes point-buying is more convenient.

Wow your right! I would have never guessed that anyone had already used the sprites, although some have been up since 2006. I agree the character design's are very recognisable. You knew two games that had the sprites in them i guess the character sprite's would be easy to point out. Well thanks for the information about DLsite, i'm glad to know it's accessible towards the western audience. I think i will use their service to buy a doujinshi online. (I originally thought the site had been automatically translated.) Thanks for summing everything up and for all the information on this product.

Here's a list of all the worksafe stuff created by Blue Forest.

I've used the English DLSite to purchase some independent games. It works rather well... except that nearly every time I've bought stuff there, my credit card company sends me a warning, and asks me if the transaction was legit.

My credit card company doesn't hassle me about it, but they charge me an international transaction fee every time :(

Still having a host of issues trying to buy points or use me credit card. Trying another approach.

Update1: Bought points with the Paypal account and applied it toward the purchase. This seems to be let me purchase.

Downloading one now, but the connection seems pretty slow. As of 10:43 pm EST, at 8% for one zip file.

Update2: 34% at 11:26 pm. Gonna call it a night and see what's up in the morning. My impression was that it would be a giant PSD file, BUT it might also be a large assortment of PNGs. Drat... Firefox crashed before I finished typing this. Starting over... thank goodness the Uncle Mugen's Question is taking place tomorrow! Perk up the day (oooh bonus perk up in e-mail hehe!)

Update3: Looks like the PSD is really small in comparison (10 MB), but so many combinations of PNGs have been saved that the bulk of the size comes from that. Was able to open up PSDs without a hitch in Photoshop. Didn't bother trying to extract the PNGs since that might expand out to 500+ MB.
