First in a set of three that will be released for free use. As the license states, please do not use commercially. It's not required, but I'd love to have a link to your game if you use it.
A couple notes -
Every color in this sprite is able to be changed. As a result, all colors are on different layers. I've done my best to label and group everything to make it a bit easier to use. Because of the amount of layers, this file will be unable to be opened in Sai due to the program's 250 layer limit, but Photoshop and GIMP are able to be used. If you intend to change the skin tone, note that on a couple of the clothing groups and mouth types there is a layer titled "skin shadow." These would need to be changed as well.
This sprite was originally made to be used in a moe-themed alarm clock Android/iPhone app. The art direction was inspired by Mizuki Kotora's work in Wanko To Kurasou. She was originally a tsundere-type character named Sakuya, however, the project fell through a year ago. Now it's been redrawn, recolored, and new features/outfits have been added for your use. Enjoy!

The sprite is amazing. Thank you for separating out all the layers as well.
Though I don't think she would work in the type of games I make, I'm going to take a look at how you did her art to hopefully my improve my own sprite-making skills.
Thank you!

Thanks!
Was hoping you'd post her. I have a thought turning over at this point to use all the girls from the original alarm clock image. Something short and upbeat. Haven't done upbeat in awhile.

I'm going to get off my soap-box now, and let you get back to your day.

Thank you, Tetiel.
EDIT: My Chrome browser had trouble accessing Mediafire as of this writing. I don't know if the problem was the browser or the site. Anyway, I had no trouble downloading the file today.

I'm glad you guys like it so much! I just updated the OP with an alternate link to my deviantart account where you can download the PSD. I'm not sure how reliable mediafire is since I don't use it too often.

Oh! Those are good! I love the girl with long, free hair with glasses! How about guys' sprites? Just for a suggestion.

Thanks guys. The other sprites in the set may take a while. I'm not sure when I'll have time. Also, I'm open to doing male sprites, but uhhh... a fair warning - I have a hard time drawing men who look like men. I'm working hard on it, though xD Maybe I'll add in facial hair options!

I have a hard time to draw male characters too. Anyway, with practices, it will lead to perfection.

A good tip would be to not make their jawlines smooth. Quite a few guys have squarer jaws. Another tip would be to give them small(er) eyes than the females, and to actually draw the bridge of the nose (at least for one side.)Tetiel wrote:Also, I'm open to doing male sprites, but uhhh... a fair warning - I have a hard time drawing men who look like men. But to make it simple: try not to make them beautiful. Aim for "average looks" if you need/want. That's what it essencially boils down to.
(Granted, considering the majority of the audience here, I don't think there will be complaints if you do guys like you usually do them)

Is it OK to modify the sprites for my own usage?

I'm so sorry for the late reply! You can modify them as much as you want, including adding new clothes, new hairstyles, whatever. All I really require is credit and it would be nice to get a link to your game if you use it.kittykatlover wrote:Is it OK to modify the sprites for my own usage?
@dark - Thanks I'm glad you found it useful!
