This is my first post. I just started learning Ren'Py yesterday and I'm really excited to produce my first short story.

For my first game, I'm using an art style that I consider derivative of: Popolocrois, Wind Waker, Threads of Fate, and Lost Winds. I'd like to do a fantasy story that will appeal about equally to females and male players.

I'm creating my character artwork with Inkscape and Illustrator (depending on which system I'm on at the time).

I'm attaching my "mad" hero character, named Ix.

Some guy with an eye patch! I wish I could say he was a character of mine, but I just randomly doodled him. Maybe I'll make him a CC sprite or something...

I would reaaaaally appreciate some redlining here. Trying to draw more busts to get better at it (and then move on to full bodies!) but I just can't find any way to appreciate the anatomy in this... And I'm sure you guys are a little better at that than I am!

@Applegate I think you're doing a good job!

I have these three suggestions:

1. Horizontal-flip every few minutes while you're drawing, so you can spot errors you would not otherwise see. Usually, if you can look at the art flipped horizontally and see no errors, it's ready!
2. I think the collar you were drawing caused you to accidentally elongate his neck a bit much. But that could also be a style you're doing.
3. I think including simple hands is a good idea because they're good practice, but also because they can really be expressive.
