I also did a dutch angle version to frame it a bit better, imo. 8I'm a sucker for dutch angles in CGs x'D It breaks the verticality of sprites+BGs, imo )

I'm not very good myself with composition, but I tried improving yours a bit. Hope it helps!

And here's an idea of how to improve the colors: try to use a lighter color on the poles and make them blue-ish, so they blend better with the background and don't stand as much as the character!
I added a yellow light at the top and a dark purple overlay at the bottom to spice things up a bit.

Okay guys!
Necro-ing this post since I find myself with a little time to practice every morning and I could use a break from work
I'll try to get back to the Art workshop thing next week or so, I want it out of my system already x'D

Rules are the same as usual: post one image that you think I could help out with and I'll do my best
One request per person! (one character sprite or one illustration).
You can request again after a few days ^^

You can request little tutorials too! Nothing that takes me more than an hour to do, though :'D
