Shout For Joy, Share Your Happiness

#1 Post by Sunlit-Dreamer »

Saw several posts in the official "venting thread" where people suggested that a good news thread should be made since when some bad things turn out good. And just so they can also announce the great times when things are not falling into an abyss. (Did that make sense?) Since it wasn't made yet, I've decided to do it myself since I'm feeling overwhelmed with excitement and all that good stuff.

Three days ago, my oldest brother Roberto proposed. At her job.

She said yes.

Awesome, yes? She's someone who's been friends with him ever since I was a little girl. I think elementary school 1-3. And they've been dating since..............I was either a junior in high school or senior. (So at LEAST 5 years) Babysitted for her, lived with her when she moved in (was living with bros for a short time, shall not disclose info), and so on. So all I can say is....ABOUT TIME ALREADY! She knows everything about him, good and bad, his quirks, and so on!

I am prepared to have a cool sister in law. Can't wait until it's July to go to Las Vegas for their wedding. (Might change of course) I just know the dresses she picked out will suit me and my little sister.

A bit sad that they're not going to do the costume themed wedding they had originally wanted last year.

Oh well! My brother's getting married to a kick butt girl! Now my mom will finally get the grandkids she's been bugging all of us for. Excuse me while I do my happy dance on my bed.

I shall be looking to seeing others happiness, small or big, when my dance is over.

I like this thread! And congratulations to your brother. I am rewatching Moyashimon, which is one of my favorite series ever. Also, Soul Eater premiered on Toonami tonight and the reception has been largely positive. One of my best friends is in it, so I feel proud. : D

I was waiting to see if this thread would pop up soon! What is there to jump for joy specifically though... hmm... Oh! After a plethora of violations I finally got my Type-R 180sx up to code last week so my Type-X has her best friend back again! Always loved Japanese cars, probably gonna start a collection some time soon. :)

These my babies :3

I've been wanting to add a Silvia to the family for ages! I was driving around and saw a 180sx with a Silvia back-end and I thought I was losing my marbles. It was like... an anti Sil80 :? ... As much as I would like one though I feel obligated to complete my 180 set with a Type-S first :3 Gonna need a bigger garage soon

I totally understand you ! ;)

Sadly, because of my needs I can't have a sports car, even if I had the funds to afford one.
I still like the fact that I've got an underrated Swedish girl though :)

Don't know too much about Saabs myself! You don't see too many of them down in Perth. What size turbo you pushing through it? (From memory the 93's have one stock don't they? :S)

I've only upgraded my Type-X from the stock t25 and threw in a t27. I was gonna make it a track monster until I realised that I would need to upgrade away from the sr20 and top mount an intervooler just to push it past 400HP so I've all but given up on that.

Yep, right on. Saabs typically have a single turbo, except the latest diesel versions of the 9-3 which have twin turbos. Wish I had one of those, both for performance and fuel efficiency since apparently they're rockets for having 180HP stock under the hood.
Anyway, they come with fairly average turbos to be honest but good enough in real life traffic, so no probs. I don't remember the exact specs though..

Haha, I have a friend who upgraded his Lancer Evo IV for tracks and he had the same kind of dilemma ^^

Saabs are great, and imma let you finish, but the Volvo S40 was the greatest vehicle of all time. Of all time!

I love all the econo cars I've had, but I can appreciate the sweet set of wheels, guys.

Happy news, Bright Onion reached their Kickstarter goal, hurrah! Another VN crosses the finish line!

Whoa, so happy for Bright Onion! I'd been following their Kickstarter ever since I knew highly skilled Amanda Lee will be performing for it. And since I never said this before, congratulations as well, Obscura!

As for what made me happy... A couple months ago a medium-famous mangaka/illustrator praised my art out of nowhere, saying it's really good for 16, when I was talking another subject with him on twitter. That meant even more because he debuted at 16 himself. Now every time art block or my nonexistent self-confidence kick up, I think "I can't give up until I become worthy of those words".

Yeah sorry for bragging;;; looking forward to read about other's happiness too, I end up feeling happier myself.

This is such a cool thread, congrats to you all! :D
This morning I got a cool small illustration job offer from a Japanese company!
Looking at what they offered me I was like "WOAH! O_O".
So now I'm all thrilled and I hope I'll meet their standards and they'll commission me again in the future ^___^
