I was doing so well financially for a while there and then I spend $200 on stupid stuff... sigh, what is wrong with me.
I'll have to sell off lots of stuff on ebay tomorrow.

If it makes you feel better, you can't possibly be more financially irresponsible than my 19-year-old self was. When I got my W-2s for that year, I realized I'd spent $17,000 dollars on hotel rooms and partying in just six months. If I had a "bad" or "tough" week I'd rent a penthouse suite and have a party. *File Under "Not Healthy Behavior"Razz wrote:I was doing so well financially for a while there and then I spend $200 on stupid stuff... sigh, what is wrong with me.

I didn't even realize I'd MADE that much money, until I got those W-2s. Talk about a rude awakening.
EDIT: And I was only able to spend money on weekends during that time period. And with no bills or expenses, I somehow managed to spend an average of over $700 a day. I could really use that money now....
I'd be a really preachy time traveler. "Hey, you! Younger me! Invest that money! You'll need it when you're a poor starving artist!"

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
I have been working non-stop for my NaNoRenO for days, and the more I work myself, the more I want a break. But then, the deadline's approaching fast, and I keep on telling myself I should do something productive, but I feel like the stuff I do is crap, so I take a break anyway, but then I suddenly overdo it and neglect my work.
Not to mention I've been sleep-deprived for a straight six days because of it, and now I look like I have a black eye with my eyebags.

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
When it rains, it pours.
* My grandmother is in the hospital again. She fell down because she wasn't using her walker - again. This time, we're considering sending her to a nursing home - but she's been dead set agains that, so there's going to be a huge kerfuffle about that on Monday.
* My newborn niece is losing weight - she's not really eating right. Everyone tells me this isn't a huge deal, and that they can deal with it - but until they do, I'm a pile of worry.
* A friend of mine probably needs brain surgery. There's no such thing as elective brain surgery.
* The project I'm working on at work is having USB problems. Not a big deal, but I have deadline pressure and no idea how to fix it - or even if it's a software problem at all.
* The sink and shower in my house are both blocked up. (They share a pipe, after a while, so I guess the blockage is in that pipe.) So I think I need to call a plumber ASAP - but it's one of those things where I don't know any, and don't know how to find a reliable guy, especially when they tell you the bill after doing the necessary work. So that's something I need to deal with quickly.
* And, of course, there are a bunch of problem with Ren'Py I need to take care of. At least those I have a vague idea how to deal with - this might be the one time in my life that debugging a segfault is considered relatively relaxing.
I suspect these problems will mostly take care of themselves, and the rest I will take care of over the next couple of days. But until then... ugh.

Ugh sorry to hear that... you've lots of bad things happening at once! Saying that "I hope everything goes well" is a bit banal but that's my sincere wish
Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
Oh dear. The same thing happened to my nephew about a year ago. If it makes you feel better, he got better after a little while. I can definitely relate to that worry pile, though.PyTom wrote:* My newborn niece is losing weight - she's not really eating right. Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
Newborns loosing weight is pretty common. As long as she doesn't drop below 10% of her birth weight and is having consistent bowel movements then she'll even out in a few weeks. My niece was the same way. She loss of her 6% body weight even though she was breastfed. And to top it all off she wouldn't stop vomiting in the hospital. Turns out she had a sensitive stomach and the meds my sister got from the hospital for pain were affecting the baby. She's four months old now and is doing great. She's just a bit small for her age but that's mainly because she was born a month premature. It worries you at first but things will improve. Your family can always consult the baby's doctor or a lactation specialist for help if things get worse. Some babies take a while to learn how to be good eaters.J. Datie wrote:Oh dear. Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
That makes me think of my baby cousin. He lost a good bit of weight recently because my aunt was trying to get him to eat solid food and he refused to eat anything and would only drink formula. It took her almost two weeks (and this is baby number 4, mind you so she should sort of know better) to realize that MAYBE she should try more than one specific food. By food number 3 on the same day he was happily eating once he realized that not all solid or mushy baby food tasted nasty.
I hope all begins to look better PyTom...

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
First time posting here, not really expecting any responses but I just have to get this out.
I'm kind of stressed, mainly because of NaNoRenO unfortunately. It makes me sad that I couldn't be capable enough to keep up to my tasks as an artist for two of the projects I'm currently working on; I feel like I shouldn't be one if I can't even help other people when I volunteered myself. As an amateur, I still work slow and trust me, slow and little free time is not a very good combination, the worst most likely. I have asked my parents to give me time on the computer to work on the art for a couple of days during the weekdays but things went wrong when I didn't want to go to school for a day under exhaustion. Things are still not getting better when that certain day that I was absent my teacher gave tons of homework and I have a speech to prepare for class later on. I've never had problems to finish homework even when I procrastinate them but now I just feel tired and unmotivated.
But in the end, I do have to admit that my own actions are causing this stress so I have no choice but to endure everything, and I still haven't finished half of the things I'm supposed to do ^^; This is not going to end well for me, that's for sure.
Okay, done. Felt a bit better that I could actually share this, though I'm guessing that my problems are far lighter than others, so good luck everyone out there who's bearing a bigger burden now, I'm cheering you on

@Nero279
I can relate... I may not be working on NaNo, but there are personal things I need to take care of... and it is fricking exsausting!
Trust me, your problem is not less important than others! Jus try to find at least five minutes of rest. Close your eyes and relax. It helps... ^^
Though, I have a question... why did you take two projects? As a newbie at drawing myself, I wouldnt dare to take more than one. At least not during school because I wouldn't have time at all!
I wish you good luck with finishing everything and finding time to rest... ^_^
p.s. Love your art!

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
Wow, someone actually responded in such a short time :'D
@ rock_an9el: You made me feel better already just by taking your time to read my post. I took a few minutes of time out just now and with your reply, I feel tons much better, as simple as that sounds ^^ And with me taking two projects at a time....... Well, that's basically one of the things I wasn't supposed to do. I guess I overestimated myself too much when I was only an object artist, so I took up another project that I thought to be really short but then things got overloaded and that's why I'm here ^^;;; But I feel a lot better now so might as well get SOME things done rather than none at all.
Again, thank you
And really didn't expect that sudden P.S. about my art lol xD Thanks!

Just don't blame yourself for not being superhuman, you only made a mistake and over-extended yourself. People can only do so much in a limited span of time, which is why it's best to work on one thing at a time.nero279 wrote: But in the end, I do have to admit that my own actions are causing this stress so I have no choice but to endure everything, and I still haven't finished half of the things I'm supposed to do ^^; This is not going to end well for me, that's for sure.
My personal problem is that I dinged my tooth with a fork and chipped it. It's nothing major, but still kind of traumatic

I'm glad you're better now! That actually makes me feel a bit better too, since I've got work over my head too... ^^;;;
@SundownKid
I agree with you on that matter!
B-but how did you manage to do that?? I guess forks are too dangerous for you... *runs and hides so she doesn't get shot*

Yeah, I guess I have to be kept in a food padded cell. But it's a pretty good track record considering my lack of problems thus far.rock_an9el wrote: @SundownKid

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
Well, I feel extremely frustrated and depressed. Due to my health issues, can't finish NaNo like I wanted to. Which sucks.
And well yeah the health issues suck too. Hopefully won't need a trip to emergency room, but is possible if it gets worse, again.
