I'm actually quite excited for Aku no Hana myself, it's an amazing series.

(It's not a horror, by the way. The PV is so misleading)

I think April 5th is when the first episode comes out in Japan.
(Time to wait for those subs! Delicious, delicious subs.)

"Aku no Hana" seems to have slipped entirely under my radar, and reading about the premise of the show doesn't really make me excited about it. The entire setup feels awkwardly stereotypical to me, and I almost expect to know all the comedy/drama that comes out of it.

I'm interested: What is it that people consider special/extraordinary about the story?

I'm actually interested in Shingeki no Kyojin and Dangan Ronpa. Because I love gore and violence and bloody and horror and splatter and murders and.... okay, I'm going to admit it, I hate real blood but I love seeing blood on the screen. I can't wait for these two anime series.

Oh... If you only knew my good sir/ma'am... If you only knew...

It can be quite predictable at times if you get use to reading these kinds of series, but I think Aku no Hana does the formula best.
It cranks the story up by 100% with all its Dark humor, Psychological mind-funks, and twisted characters.
Everyone is just crazy in their own way, but they are still kept interesting and in-character as well.
I think the characters hold the story up pretty well and even make the story itself feel pretty interesting to pay attention to.

For me, it's the visual’s that I enjoy the most in Aku no Hana and how over the top it makes everything. If it wasn't for the amazing visual’s the manga has, it'll fall quite flat on a few things. I just can't post one image from Google images so I suggest searching what you can get from Google images yourself. You might get yourself interested see a page or two.

tldr;
"This manga is flipping crazy"

That's as simple as that, some people just love crazy over the top events and scenes.
(That and some people enjoy seeing a weaker-willed MC get humiliated for their own sick pleasures, so it's a little fetish-fueled)

So yeah, it's pretty dramatic; my girlfriend hates me; funny, ha-ha he fell down, kind of thing. 8)
Watch out Baka and Test, here comes Aku no Hana!

Dangan Ronpa is going anime?! OMG. I hope this turns out better than the latter arcs of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, where they drew out a short story arc so long that it became boring and trite and made the ending unbelievably corny. For Dangan Ronpa, they will need to shorten down the original VN plot a good deal - and they will have to change the ending a bit. The original was... unsatisfying.

Can I make a suggestion for the organization of this forum?

I'm thinking we should have one anime thread per season. So we'll start a "Spring 2013 Anime" thread right away, and then have a "Summer 2013 Anime" thread start in late May, and so on.

About dangan ronpa, there weren't any detailed information about it yet(I just stumbled on the anime site while surfing the net months ago). I'm also crossing my fingers here but seeing that dangan ronpa is a Level 5(inazuma eleven, prof. layton) game, I guess we could expect good quality here?

My guess is that they'd go anti-climatic and fire on a 2nd season(with the 2nd game's casts) or have a better ending which solves all the mysteries(I doubt they would though).

@Pytom: That's a brilliant idea  I don't watch many anime series lately but I still watch out for news after all ;)
