Steins;Gate- The cast is full of amazing characters and the way time travel is handled is very clever. Also the show has some hilarious moments.
FMA: Brotherhood- I can't express how much I love the series.
NOIR- The plot wasn't always strong but the action is done well and the show's style is unusual but enjoyable. Not to mention the music is amazing.
Madoka- Deconstruction of the Magical Girl genre, a tragic and powerful show.
Cowboy Bebop- Haven't finished it yet but it seems like it will be one of my favorites.

I'd say Cowboy Bebop.
Outside of that, Death Note and Gurren Lagann.
I have enjoyed a lot of others. But those rank up at the top for me.

Re: Best Anime Ever Watched?
All KEY works animated by KyoAni. All are touching and sad, but also has awesome comedy.
Madoka Magica. Tragedy and anguish of magical girls makes it awesome.
Fate Zero. Largely due to Kotomine's descend to evil.
Psycho Pass. Dark cyberpunk is often fun.

Re: Best Anime Ever Watched?
this could become a rather random list but, my favs (in no particular order):
Gungrave (just gotta like Grave/Brandon)
Serial Experiments Lain (IF I had to choose one specific all time fav it would be this one)
Ghost In The Shell, especially the second movie Innocence
a~nd for not so serious moments:
Excel Saga (gotta love that totally random, over the top humor)
Lucky Star (random... and funny as heck XD)
Azumanga Daioh (two words: grinning cat)
As you can see: absolutely no similaritys whatsoever within those... <.<

Re: Best Anime Ever Watched?
Agh! There are so many good ones out there! I want to list them all. I guess for now I'll just stick with these four:
-Princess Tutu
- Yeah, I know. The name sounds girly and silly. I had my issues with it at first too. However, upon watching it all the way through (Watch it all the way through! The first few episodes don't do the rest of it justice!) it ends up being a deep story regarding the nature of stories. The plot has several twists and I ended up rooting for all of the characters by the end. It wraps up nicely too. I wish more animes/t.v. series/books/etc. could end as well as Princess Tutu. Words can not describe how this anime surprised me. Go. Watch this one now. Even if you're male.
-Death Note
- Cool with an intelligent story. Instead of fighting with fists the two main characters fight with their brains! It's remains intense since one mistake can cost either of the characters
-Sengoku Basara
- This one might be more of a guilty pleasure. The plot is beyond simple--
-Persona 4
- My brother got it for me for my birthday. I played the game, so I was initially really unsure about watching it. I figured that it wouldn't be able to do justice to all the feelings and emotions I experienced by playing through the actual game. After watching it, I can say it does more than justice to the series. It makes the important bits more cinematic and has enough new material to it to make the experience build on my love for the series. Even if you have no plans to play the game, give this anime a look anyway. It has lovable characters, a great story line and is a wonderful adaptation.

(and ultimately does)
their lives. It is actually a pretty deep series regarding morality and makes you think about what you'd do if you had your own Death Note. It's a series that actually deserves it's popularity (Though... I think most of the popularity comes from crazy fan girls that are missing the point slightly...)-Sengoku Basara
- This one might be more of a guilty pleasure. The plot is beyond simple--
Enemies (Well, most of them are more like friends who fight each other) team up to to take out the big bad guy
-- and it doesn't follow the actual history in any way, shape or form, but it is so much fun! The battles are epic (even getting pretty dramatic at some points) and all of the generals are beyond cool (I wish they were like Pokemon so I could catch them all *shot*). This series gets my blood pumping like no other! So what if it defies gravity logic and has horses that can run up walls? It only makes the series more bad ass! -Persona 4

Death Note
Gosick (I wish they'd made the ending just a little longer, I think a touch more on certain characters would have really helped)
I kind of have a thing for unusual, but intelligent main characters, detective stories and meaningful consequences, also endings with some happiness to them, but not 'they all lived happily ever after'
Ouran High School Host Club
For a longer one, Naruto, but the quality of episodes really varies and if you have any friends who watch it, they have a LONG time to spoil you before you catch up......like letting you know people die, or aren't who they seem to be......
Kuroko no Basuke (Kuroko's basketball) is also pretty good, and the episodes tend to be of a much more consistent quality.

Inuyasha for me, and then CardCaptor Sakura. <--Yes, I love CCS. And the hopeless romantic in me screams whenever I watch an episode of Inuyasha. There's something about Takahashi's writing that pulls at my heartstrings...
I agree with Cabriolean about Naruto--I like it, but it's soooo long and the quality DOES vary from episode to episode.
