tar.bz2 Linux file is HUGE? [Solved]

#1 Post by Cinto »

Still on a Mac. I packaged my game for Linux, but...well, the .tar.bz2 file is 309 MB. The original folder of my game is only 13 MB.

Is this normal?
I had a problem earlier that was similar, but this time I know for SURE that I'm only trying to do Linux.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

That seems weird to me. The tar.bz2 should be only a little bigger than the mac zip file. Is there something huge in the lib directory?

Not that I know of... whole folder of my game directory is only 13 MB, so I'm fairly sure I didn't hide anything huge in there.

It's not your game directory - if something big wound up in the renpy/lib/linux-i686 directory, it would get copied into the tar.bz2.

I checked it, and that folder is only 11 MB.

Weird. Can you uncompress the file? I'd be curious as to what's taking up the space.

Found the problem. I'd mistakenly stored some huge .zip files inside of the python/compiler folder. But why did this only happen with the linux distribution?
