@leon
I didn't think of using actions for cropping before and the whole export layers to files is new to me. I've been using photoshop for years, shame on me. This will save so much time with saving sprites, I can't even... *mind blown*
Thank you very much for sharing! :D

Same here. I was just about to find a method for exporting layers online or make one myself, when I realized it already comes with Photoshop. :D

@RavenBelmont: The problem is that all the image resources were made for the screen resolution that is used here (1024x576). So without a new set of resources made for 800x600 it would take more than just changing the coordinates in the code.

Newbie question *waves hand*

When I play this, the code stuff comes down for a split second, then disappears...is this supposed to happen? Because I think it's referring to it but I can't see it >.>

Sorry!

The code should stay on the screen like in the tutorial that comes with Ren'Py (it's where its taken from). If you can't get it to work, just check screens.rpy - all the code is in there.

Hi! Nice samples you've go there! Thank you very much. Now I think I can enhance more my ideas.

Anyways, I want to ask if I can incorporate this imagebuttons in-game? For example, I have a map and there is a clickable landmark.

Thank you for your answer. :)

Just make a screen for the map. Something like this:

Code: Select all

screen map:
    add "map_bg.jpg"
    imagebutton auto "school_%s.png" focus_mask True xpos 100 ypos 100 action Jump("school")
Then display the map in the script:

Code: Select all

call screen map

Hey, this is my first post so go easy on me ^^"". I'm actually new ( VERY VERY new ) to Ren'py and I marathoned through most of the cookbook in three hours. My python understanding is, like, maybe, a little below than basic? I'm really sorry about this but I have started not long ago.

I've been learning the basics in here and I replaced the options and screens rpy of that project with yours.

I'm sorry about the inconvenience, but the forum isn't allowing me to use bbcode an image with width more than 800 pixels.
I understand that the background must be scaled, that is not the problem. Is there a way to restore that menu? I mean, the text in that image is not text but actually a menu with two choices.

Code: Select all

menu:
"Be honest and give the penny to her":
            jump honest

"Lie to her, and keep it for yourself":
            jump lie
Is it possible to restore it to the default way? Pardon me if this is not the normal ( or default ) style of menu.
