A second opinion please!

#1 Post by lilyrose »

I'm working some sprites for a game I'm making and I'm doing it differently this time. Normally I draw my sprites by hand then scan them onto my computer and go from there but I've gotten to lazy for that XD. I drew this sprite with my mouse and I was wonder does it look okay? Did I get the proportions correct? If anything seems off to you please let me know. :)
Oh, this is just the sketch so it's not colored (didn't want to do anything else until I knew it looked okay.)

I drew two poses (arms) but she only has one face expression so far
Oh, and keep in mind she is a child (or she is supposed to be? I never drew one before^_^')

the first pose
Pose 1
Pose 1
and the second one
Pose 2
Pose 2
Please let me know what you think
~ You know I used to be able to leap tall buildings using a jetpack? Then I got shot in the leg with an arrow T.T ~

I think the sprite itself is okay overall. Proportion wise, she still looks stiff especially around the shoulders and torso, but that's probably because of the way you drew her dress.

I've always had a problem with shoulders and arms truthfully ^_^' And thank you :) I was worried I had gotten something wrong

Her head is a little tilted. Draw a at the center from her head down to her dress. You'll see her body is leaning too much on one side than the other, especially how the neck and body connects. Since this is digital, you can easily just select the head on the image, and move it to the right a little. You might want to move her all her facial features a little lower too. Children have facial features that haven't completely developed and so appear lower. The older you get, the more your facial features become stretched to your skin, so your eyes get higher and smaller, and your cheekbones and nose are more prominent.
