Crystal Seasons [Dating Sim, RPG, Visual Novel, Fantasy]

Hello! I'm a newbie with Ren'py, however I decided to take on, at least in my eyes, a fairly difficult project. It's called "Crystal Seasons"!
I don't know exactly how long it will take... but at least several months. (I'll probably be able to finish all the art in... January/February) I'm going to release a free demo/trial version, and on deviantart I'm going to sell the full version. (For 800 points, or about $10)

BASIC PLOT
A girl (customizable name) wakes up from a 5-year coma inside a crystal in a cavern far away from the "Kingdoms of the Four Seasons". Her memory is fuzzy, so with a man named Ryosuke and other people she meets on her travels around the Kingdoms, she tries to discover just who she is, what exactly happened to her, and why.

That's the basic idea. It's a fantasy world. Each City represents a different Season and Element (hence, Kingdoms of the Four Seasons).

ABILITIES

I'm trying to make the MC as customizable as possible. First off, the player can enter in any name you wish. (She has her own name, but I'm planning to try and program the game so the player can choose to keep the name created, or use her real name) Second, as this is a fantasy game, she can have any ability the player chooses. I still haven't decided exactly where in the game the player will choose the ability.
I plan to have 5-6 abilities. (The 6th one is tentative... but it may end up in the game)

Fire
Water/Ice
Earth
Sound (Air)
Light (Defensive version of Fire)
Dark (Defensive version of Water)

How will the abilities the affect the game? I don't want to put too much work on myself (as I am both drawing and programming) so it won't drastically change anything. Her appearance will not change due to it.
However, it can change character relations just a bit. Some characters may like people with a certain ability, or dislike it. Or, during battles (they won't be full-on battles, but the MC will be given choices on what to do during them - although I'm still not completely sure what I'm going to do).
EX: Ryosuke is surrounded! What will you do?
->Create a barrier around Ryosuke (Light, Dark, Earth)
->Burn the enemies to give him some time (Fire)
->Freeze the enemies (Water)
->Stun enemies (Sound)
->Ask ____ to help him

CHARACTERS

I will not post images of ALL the characters. Only the ones that appear in the demo (which is about half of them)
There are 8 characters in total! (5 guys, 2 girls, and the MC) Of course, there are some other minor characters - however the don't affect the ending whatsoever. (They help the flow of the story - EX: Innkeepers)

(Aeyrn): The main character. She just woke up from a coma from inside a crystal in the Ciel Caverns.

Ryosuke: The first character (Aeyrn) meets. He finds her in the Ciel Caverns and agrees to help her find out why she was there.

Ren: An adventurer who makes money from escorting civilians between cities and through the Wilderness.

Misa: A travelling merchant who has a strange obsession with Ren.
(Being inked)
Feryne: A Knight who aspires to become the Royal Guard of the Princess of the Kingdoms.
Yeun: A regular blacksmith from Fleur
Elise: Yeun's younger sister. She wants to be an adventurer, but was never accepted into a formal role due to her gender.
Ein: A drunkard who enjoys gossip.

PROGRESS
1/21/14
The game contains 1,357 dialogue blocks, containing 9,648 words and 51,037
characters, for an average of 7.1 words and 38 characters per block.
88 menus, 52 images, and 12 screens.

I only need to sketch/ink Fyrne, and then color everyone else for the sprites. :D
I haven't done many BGs since the last time I updated it (I'm currently programming and writing)
I however did finish all the BGs needed for the demo :D

The demo portion is still not finished yet! //this is a ridiculous amount of menus...
It's almost done though (programming wise)
I don't know when I'll post the demo though. I may post it right when it's finished or a month or two before I finish the entire game. (That'll take a while)

530 dialogue blocks, containing 3,624 words and 18,859
characters, for an average of 6.8 words and 36 characters per block.
44 menus, 48 images, and 12 screens.

Misa still isn't done yet.
I've finished the House BG and Living Room. I need to do the entrance and the Bedroom.

(I don't know if anyone cares about the progress, but it's helpful for me~)

Welcome to the site :3. Your project does sound very ambitious. Good luck. The basic premise and characters are neat. And the mini RPG element seems like it could be fun as well. I look forward to hearing more.

However this thread probably belongs in the Idea Section right now since there isn't much to show at this point. When you do have some progress done the thread can be moved the WiP section.

You don't need that much more. Here are the suggestions from the sticked thread:
screenshots or production quality assets like art and writing, is enough to pass this bar. We just want to make sure your game is more than just a setting and a list of characters.
So once you have a sprite or two up or maybe a snippet of the script you'll be good :>.
