Desire a Programmer for an Android Build

#1 Post by Clayton Barnett »

While I've downloaded the RAPT and glanced at it, I've neither the time nor inclination to throw away a week of my life porting my VN to the Android platform. Yet, ported I want it to be.

Instead, I'd like to pay one of you to do it for me.

If you've done this before, please contact me. I would like to see successful work before I contract you, but as this is still a new-ish thing, that's flexible. If successful, you can expect repeat business for our sequels and spin-offs of O.K. ... at least until PyTom creates an "Android Build" button in RenPy.

Payment would be via PayPal unless you've a preferred alternative.

Thank you.

[bump]

I'm bumping this for two reasons: firstly, the person that did commit to create my Android build seems to have vanished. Secondly, we've gone from one VN to five, and I'd like them all "made over" into their own Android builds.

Most of the RenPy code is straightforward... I don't know enough to be dangerous... and I don't anticipate any issues. As I said in my original post, I've just not the time nor inclination to do this for myself, and would rather hire one of you.

So, if you're up to it, please reply here or send me a PM. I'd like to get these done as quickly as possible.

Thank you!

Hi Clayton!
Ren'Py will have a nice "Android" button in next version (6.16, planned for November). It's coming soon...

Note that while the Android button will make things more convenient, it's not magic. You'll still need to make sure your game's interface is touch-compatible - for example, that buttons are large enough that players can touch them on a phone or tablet.

Wow, this is amazing! Is there any chance that Ren'py games are going to be iOS compatible in the near future?

Not unless Apple decides to allow sideloading.
