An appealing setting and interesting art can be a good start. Where will your project go from here? Do you want to emphasize story or gameplay? Do you want to find a middle ground?
There are benefits to making sure your project stands out. But at the same time, you won't really benefit by garnishing the story/game and adding gimmicks. In my opinion, innovation and quality are about equally important.

We don't know Lovely Juliet so we checked the website, its not very popular in France, the most popular dating sim in France is http://www.amoursucre.com/.
Is that my candy love in French? The dating sim I mean.
