So I played through your new demo, and I'd say it was good! Can't wait to know more about the mystery surround them, and I love the humor, especially for simon and janelle~ The art was good, and I love everyone's expressions. Are you planning to release a walkthrough someday? ^^ Good luck finishing the game!

Thanks Azure. And I only really release walkthroughs once people comment about it being too hard, but I think the demo's pretty easy.

In the current version, there appears to be a major bug that allows you to skip a huge chunk of the game and miss a lot of information. I'm uploading a fixed version now.

Demo 2.00 had a gigantic bug where you would be able to finish the game and get the planks for Miho of Sharlon without completing the quest involving the strange red-haired girl and the item first. Which means you'd have missed a huge chunk of quest and dialogue. The new version fixes that. Get it here:

Hi everyone,

I just retested the game and realized that there is a major bug - you can't open your inventory in the latest demo. To fix it, please install this patch by following these instructions:

Instructions

1) DOWNLOAD PATCH 2.02 HERE
2) Extract Game.rgssad from the patch folder.
3) Replace the Game.rgssad file from your game folder with the new Game.rgssad

Again, I am sorry for the problems caused. If you run into any more bugs, please do contact me at coren.baili@gmail.com so that I can fix it as soon as possible. Thank you so much, and enjoy your game!

I know I haven't updated on Cole's Gate lately - but don't worry, it's not dead. Just really slow, due to inherent busy-ness here and RPGXP being a generally more troublesome nut than Ren'py, with ten times the number of bugs per programming. Perhaps in the future, if the full Cole's Gate gets enough recognition, I might want to make a visual novel remake .

First up - Camelat Enya, a young woman who's appeared several times, faceless, in the demo - as Ray's childhood sisterly figure, perhaps?



Second up - Lord Miho of Shalorn, a man from the country of Palendine, from across the seas. Yes, despite appearing like a side-quest character in the demo, he's actually important.

At first I figure out how to play around, but

The part where suddenly there is Lord Shalorn is kind of jarring since I finished the strange girl's side quest without meeting him, and suddenly Simon just called his name out of nowhere.... D:

So I was having a bit difficulty to proceed afterwards.

I really like how

no one was really pure in this story

, and I love Janelle's backbone. Hnnnggg I really want to know the endings!

The RPG element itself was a bit a pain to handle. I mean, I used to love RPGs but in such a strong story, I feel that it is just an obstacle between me and the next scene, hahaha. Maybe those who loves RPG would feel better about it, and I like all the side characters and side quests you couldn't get in a typical VN format. And there is just this satisfaction of acquiring an item which is lost in VN formats, so yeah. Plus minus, I think. Alright, that is about all! I am hooked up with the story! The hints are just right, and we can offer an explanation without being told, and when we have confirmation from character's dialogues, it just feels rewarding.

Can't wait the finished version!

Thanks so much! :'D Don't worry, I added in a Story Mode for that very reason. Just choose it at the beginning and you'll be able to skip battles!
