A bit more art to show:
So far things are running reasonably smoothly but it'll take at least another month to finish getting the art together.

Re: Fantasy Gamebook Adventure [GxB] [Commercial]
Was in such a crunch mode that I missed this thread completely. Great move to license an already finished story so you don't need to chase writers, and the art looks really good

Re: Fantasy Gamebook Adventure [GxB] [Commercial]
The inevitable slight delays have kicked in - certain very large monsters require a good bit of time to paint!
But we're almost done with the art (artist is hoping to be done by Christmas so she can relax!) so expect news in the near future.

Thanks for sharing! I was actually thinking about doing something similar to this based on a book I read when I was nine, but I'd prefer to write my own story and setting. I would be interested in whether or not you thought it was worth it post mortem. For example, did the complications in dealing with the licensing deal over complicate anything unnecessarily, etc.

Incredible! A new Hanako game! Can't wait to play!
The way you approached and organized the production is really brilliant. Great work! I've been considering a similar approach.
