Hmm well... Although the free English games scene is seemingly growing. It's still relatively small.

For some of the better games you don't have to look far, in the Game Maker's Corner of this forum some have been posted.
When I did the layout for Lemma's site, I tried to add a link to as many as I could at the time on this page here near the bottom:
http://lemmasoft.net/projects_devcenter_links.html

The Ren'ai Games FAQ supported by Megatokyo Forums has some information too:
http://s93010867.onlinehome.us/xfer/dsv ... 2.html#2.1

There are some on Newgrounds apparently but most seem to just be for entertainment value rather than engaging storyline or character development. So I've never really bothered to look (plus I hear they're not very good x_x) But they're there...

Your other option is translation patches for commercial game demos. Many game sites for these games have downloadable demos (as well as videos, sample music, images etc.)
Some groups out there have done translations and more are in the works, but it's a slow process.

http://www.insani.org/

Translation patches for the demos of the following games are avilable at the above link I think: Majipuri, Fate/Stay Night, Planetarian, Haru no Ashioto and partially Wind - a breath of heart -
They work together with http://nnl1.com on the Wind - a breath of heart - project I believe. Some of their work can be found here: http://www.edkeyes.org/choco/

Best of luck.

thanks for the help...i knew about the links on lemmasoft.net i have a few problems though:

Love Revolution -link broken

Black Pencil & River Trap -i cant get the .rar files to work (i think i need to download something)

Kasuka -played it and loved it

Elven Relations -could not find a download link on the site

Untouched -tried it and cant wait for it to be finished!

so i guess that does leave me with a few to try...well, thanks again!

Hmmm, well the RAR files are packed with WinRar, so just stop by http://www.rarlabs.com/download.htm and d/load the packer.

However, if you downloaded Black Pencil, there should be also an .exe file. Just put all the files into a directory. It should look like this:

BlackPencil.part01.exe
BlackPencil.part02.rar
BlackPencil.part03.rar
BlackPencil.part04.rar

Just run the exe and it will extract it into a directory, then go to that directory and run bpencil.exe.

For better experience, you may want to download the fullscreen support file, it's zipped (you can unzip it with WinRAR) and just copy the bpencil_fs.exe file into the directory where bpencil.exe is and run it. The game will then start in fullscreen. Good luck!

The same goes for River Trap and Kaori. Kaori is fullscreen already, no need to d/load anything else.

Also, if you downloaded River Trap with the one-file option, just use WinRAR tu unpack it. If you have any other troubles, just post on the respective thread in the Game-Making forum.

Have fun.

These two are still in progress. They're unfortunately not complete.
Hmm didn't know that link to Love Revo was not working. But after checking you can access the site with this link instead: http://www.datingsim.tk/

There's also Town Heat (partially finished, like Untouched):
http://www.republika.pl/piotrkn22/th/index.html

And PK Girl (which I think may be text based, not sure):
http://sakuralover.tripod.com/adrift/the_pk_girl.htm

Snowing Clear Skies On April 29th has a partially finished demo:
http://clearwind.web1000.com/

Project H is incomplete/unreleased too.

Enjoy.

Nope, it's not just you. I love google.com's cached feature. Datingsim.tk was a mask type domain name (for lack of a better term, lol). The frame src led to this address...

And if the link from Tage doesn't work, try this:
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jdcruz/loverevo/

And worse comes to worse, just go to the Love Revo boards at http://loverevo.hyperboards.com/

Oh yeah, don't forget Muto Anime's Together Forever.

Together Forever looks great but I have nowhere near enough RAM for it and I'm pretty sure the clock speed is WAY too slow...Win98SE here

DLing Town Heat right now...kind of a long DL when you have dialup!

You need shockwave or flash - don't remember which. I'll check it out again and give you guys a more definite answer.
