Thank you! Quite a few people have asked me now, so I probably should. The short (probably unhelpful) version is that I'm using Ren'Py's ImageDissolve() with a greyscale mask I created. For the latter swirly spiral transition that's all I use. For the hex transition it's a little more involved and would probably require writing a bit of a tutorial to explain what's happening. I'll try to get around to it.

Here's a WIP BG for The Human Reignition Project (click for larger version):
And here's a sketchover an old version showing roughly what's left to do (I also need to remodel the recliner!):
StoryDevs — easy-to-search profiles for VN devs (under construction!)
Some characters and pictures from Psychic Fractal, which is a story that I wrote, and have decided to make into a series of games.

To fly round back the screaming wall and see red fire burning ice to stone. The clock is long, the rain is blood, the night continues on into the day. They look, you see the sky is shining. Blinding darkness makes one see too far. To leave forever, never to return by staying. Power drives you mad. A will of moving up and through to run for miles on, like Psychic Fractal.

edit: those transitions were awsome.

I think they need more shading between the pecs, the abs above the bellybutton also need more definition because it looks like a small cross.
Something about the blue haired guy to the lefts right arm isn't right as well.

Yeah I admit I usually dont worry about anatomy as long as its somewhat visually appealing. as for the shading I decided to keep it super simple since they are full body and I have to make them move afterword. But I see what you mean XD thank you so much *bows*
I finally finished the character design for the other main character in my game.
His was the first design I drew, but I wasn't satisfied with the way it turned out and
always planned to go back to it once I figured out the art style for the game.

A background I made for my patreon package of this month. Drawing locations with a lot of wood paneling is one of my favourite things to do.
Wow this background is very well done (:.
I love how you added the shading and highlights and the colours are fantastic!
Someday I need to learn how to draw backgrounds, haha.
Finally got around to working on some stuff from my own personal project (a fan VN of The Hobbit movies, which no one but me will ever see, but is also useful for practicing coding I want to try out )
Was pretty pleased with how Bard's sprite is turning out though!
I did get super lazy on his clothing though...
Completed: Diving in Deep/The Lady's Choice/The Crossroads
Current WIP: The Curse of Creek Edge (NaNo2020)
This is the last character design for my game, now I'm on to backgrounds.
Yay for black people who don't look like white people with a tan!
