Re: Worst anime you have ever watched?
I haven't watched much anime yet but by far, I think it's Sword Art Online. I just find the romance really cringy and it's NOT... not funny or sad or even anything at all. It's just cringe, and I haven't even mentioned the unrealism of the plot and characters yet. Considering that I am quite a fan of MMOs, it is a real disappointment.
Re: Worst anime you have ever watched?
Mine would be Boku no pico...That was when I learnt about hentai .-.
Yeah, I don't really like SAO either. The first arc was pretty good, after that it was kinda weird after it turned into a harem. I also despise this weird trope in harem where only the main guy can be OP, and if another nice guy shows up-he's most likely to be the bad guy or betray the characters later on in the story. I still watch it because...the animation is great, and it's something I can discuss with my friends! Overall, I guess it's just not my cup of tea?Genesis wrote:I haven't watched much anime yet but by far, I think it's Sword Art Online. Tokyo Ghoul, that ending ruined an average anime turning it into one of my most despised animes.
Charlotte, for a runner-up, deeply disappointing overall with a good start but then messed up mortals and ending, again ruining what could have been an all right anime.
For a film choice, Steamboy. I have never been so bored in all my life.

Re: Worst anime you have ever watched?
I don't know much, since I dropped maaany title of anime after watching 2-3 episodes and felt like "I know the rest" or something like "it's getting nowhere.."
but, I want to mention some :
Sword Art Online next season (I love Sword Art Online really, but not the second season or any story outside that "Sword Art Online" game) since I forced to watch them until the end.. and dissappointed after..
Psycho Pass 2, because the shortness and it's like a real spin off from the first series of Psycho Pass (even the main character still there tho and the story still about her but.. I just feel something off)
and absolutely.. BOKU NO PICO! I have to closed my video player after the first 5 minutes! I feel something bad when I saw the opening, but I don't mind it at first. After 5 minutes.. I can't hold it anymore.

Tokyo Ghoul season 2. The manga was great, first season was..mediocre, but this...I thought that when Ken accepts his ghoul nature he would be stronger, but NOPE. And the ending... what the hell was that?? I don't understand... I just don't understand why creators made such ending instead of epic battle, which was in manga...WORST.ANIME.EVER. oh yeah... OP sucks too.

Grave of the Fireflies by Studio Ghibli.
As an otherwise fan of Studio Ghibli features, this anime really left me unfulfilled. I can understand what they were conveying, and that the true horrors of conflict should not be dumbed down or ignored, lest history be forgotten and mistakes repeated.
It didn't do anything for me except upset me, in a bad way.
Then there's the completely anti-climactic ending, and not just because it was revealed at the start of the film.
I was expecting some sort of screen text during the film end to quote poignant statistics to reinforce the scale of what you just witnessed. It was then I realised this was more of a documentary than a film.
In the days, weeks and months that followed watching it, I never once looked back and thought: "Actually, I'm glad I watched that film." It didn't make me any more aware of the struggles highlighted in the film.
I wish I never watched it.

If we are what we repeatedly do, then good coding is not an act, but a habit

Does anyone feel like Angel Beats! was lacking in character development?
It wasn't the worst anime ever, but it was such a huge disappointment that I believe it deserves a spot here.
Yes, I know there are tons of fans out there, but the story was not backed up by enough interactions with the characters to really make the ending impact-full. The story is also very confusing, somewhat too elaborate. Coming from Key, I'm thoroughly disappointed.

Oh God. D= I got drunk one night with a friend and we watched Boku No Pico 2 for a laugh. It was disturbing.Toothpaste wrote:Boku no Pico

If you want a really good laugh, try watching Sailor and the 7 Ballz. It's very NSFW, like Pico, but none of the 'porn' is exciting at all. The animation is terrible, the characters are constantly off model. The entire movie is a trainwreck of indescribable proportions. It really is something that needs to be seen to believe.
In terms of actual anime, I think Yuuki Yuuna is a hero was probably my biggest disappointment of last year. I heard some good things about it but ending up really unsatisfied by the end. The pacing was bad, the characters had very little development, the rules of the magic made no sense and existed purely for drama. It was very anticlimactic. The animation and character design was pretty good though.

Guilty Crown.
Which is weird because I actually liked it, but I acknowledge the fact that it's terribly written and is *overall* an absolute pile of garbage. But I didn't hate it, good OST + visuals kept me from hating it for the most part.

Re: Worst anime you have ever watched?
One of the worst anime for me would have to be M3 - the dark metal. I quite liked the opening theme by May'n so it's a bit disappointing.
I also wasn't very fond of Sword Art Online (though I appreciated the character designs) and for whatever reason, I strongly dislike Say, I love you.

Re: Worst anime you have ever watched?
I haven't actually watched globally hated series like Pico no Boku or Schooldays, and I liked Sword art online because I stopped watching after seeing the first episode of the second season.
Worst anime because it was boring: Genocyber. I have some messed up gore-resistance, so all I saw was a crappy thrown-together plot relying solely on the gore aspects.

Re: Worst anime you have ever watched?
School Days is actually pretty good, as it delivers it's intended message quite well. It is written to make you hate the characters, and to leave you with a deep feeling of disgust. Due to this it is hated, but it is exceedingly well done. With SAO I found the Aincrad Arc to be the worst part of it, though I wasn't a big fan of Mother's Rosario either. The LN was so much better than the adaptation for that arc.
If I were to say the worst, I'd have to say Kiba.

Tend to be a bit quiet, but will help where I can.
