Kaikei Sozai Mise Backgrounds - RESOLVED (Thank you!)

Hi everyone!

I hope this thread is in the right place...

Quick question.

Does anyone have the Kaikei Sozai Mise backgrounds (in .JPEG or .PNG) saved on their computer or know where I can download the batch online? I was using them for my visual novel when I was playing around with Visual Novelty, but I was never able to extract them from the engine and the original site that hosted the images (http://shass.sakura.ne.jp/) seems to have gone down.

Can anyone help? I am in desperate need of these backgrounds specifically - they are perfect for my project and kind of irreplaceable to me!!

Do you still have the novelty program? If so, you can probably find the images in the novelty/assets/textures folder.
If you no longer have the novelty program but exported the game and did not compile, you can use 7zip to unzip the nvz file. If you exported and compiled, you can use 7zip to extract the files from the exe file.

I do, but I'm not seeing it in ANY of the folders. The only assets/textures I'm seeing are the ones I added manually myself. It's the strangest thing. I was one of the users suffering from the missing .dll file, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it...

The missing dll file means you don't have DX 9 loaded on your PC. You can get it at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=34429. It will not conflict with other versions of DirectX.

If you still have the Novelty program, the KSM backgrounds are compressed in a file named "Sample backgrounds.nvz" You can find it in the Assets folder. You'll need 7zip to uncompress it.
If you no longer have the Novelty Program, you can still download it from http://www.visualnovelty.com/download.html

I re-downloaded Novelty and can see the file, but it's not letting me extract it with 7-Zip. Usually, all I have to do is right-click and select "Extract Here," or something, but the option isn't there. It just keeps asking me what program to open it with...

EDIT: NEVER MIND!! I chose to open it with the 7-Zip file manager and was able to access them! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
