Anyone know how to make a signature auto open in a new tab?

#1 Post by wayward »

Just figured I'd ask. Wondering how to make a forum signature automatically open in a new tab when clicked.

I read that adding target"_blank" in the in the [url] would do it, buuuut, maybe im doing it wrong. not sure. seems to work with other kinds of links though.

I'm not sure I understand the problem.
On the Google Chrome browser, if you 'right-mouse-click' (click on the right button on your mouse) on a link, it will give you a pop-up menu that gives you the option to open the link in a new tab.
Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer 11 all work the same way.
Some of my visual novels are at http://www.the-new-lagoon.com. They are NSFW
Poorly done hand-drawn art is still poorly done art. Be a Poser (or better yet, use DAZ Studio 3D) - dare to be different.

Sry, I didn't have enough room to say "automatically open."

But to clarify for others. There are ways to make links automatically open up a new tabs instead of forcing someone to leave a website. I'm wondering if there's a way to make my forum signature down below, automatically open in a new tab.

Googling around I've seen someone suggesting that you only need to add the 'target' attribute to your link. For example, if your html code is

Code: Select all

<a href="http://your_url_here.html">Link</a>
make it

Code: Select all

<a target="_blank" href="http://your_url_here.html">Link</a>
Not tested. BTW I believe it will open a new page, not a new tab.

No, sorry! You must be mistaking me for someone else.
