A timer that lasts through choices and jumps?

#1 Post by silversporksama »

Hear me out here, I'm fully aware that this sounds like a terrible idea since you're going to be rushing the player, but there are gameplay-related reasons behind this! Promise!

So I actually have a (nearly) finished project, soft-released, with a part that involves getting from one part of the story to another within a certain time limit. I've checked multiple old posts on timers and tested out several things such as changing the layer(???) the timer was on, but couldn't seem to get to get something that would still keep working after choices and jumping to other parts of the code :(

That time limit is a key factor to the overall game so I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me get things working!

And while we're at it, I was wondering if there's a way to keep track of how long it takes for the player to reach a certain point! Every time I try to look for things on timers it's all about countdown timers,,, i hope it was ok to mention that aaahh its not the main question but more of a passing thought;;

Thank you for your time! 💕

Put a timer on a screen. Then show the screen.
A Close Shave:
