Re: Guestbook

#346 Post by Skarphedin »

Hey,

I only just discovered the games/stories on this site, and I have to say that they have so far been extremely creative and entertaining. I'd basically stopped playing games because they have become (and really, have mostly always been) so empty, but the ones on this site manage to make me feel more human by the end of them. Obviously, I'm only referring to the handful I've actually played.

I always wanted to create things like this, so I'm glad to have found this game engine too. <-- That is in no way a pledge to make games :)

Edited to add: Oh, when I said 'this site' I was talking about http://www.renai.us, I haven't looked at http://www.lemmasoft.net yet. And by game engine, I meant the Ren'Py engine.

...or because one isn't able to keep up anymore with the hardware requirements of modern games. :D

Hey, I'm "M," and I just wanted to say that you've got a great thing here:
An actual community! With games! That are free! And entertaining! Wow!
So, what can we do to make this community soar...? Maybe I'll stat a game. If I ever do, I'll be sure to post it.

I suppose I should introduce myself as well. Hi, I'm a 21y boy from Estonia.. :)

I can draw a bit, write a bit less and even have some programming experience. So in theory VN should be the perfect thing for me. Time will tell.. :P

I have drawings up at http://luminarious.blogr.com (my old blog) and http://luminarious.tumblr.com (my current one).

yo, my name is Shogo and I really dig Ren'py and some of the games ppl are creating. I spent a few hours yesterday learning the basics, and it's really easy and intuitive. I'm really looking forward to making some kick-ass games of my own soon, and also playing some completed ones. This could become an addiction... :D

Hey! I just stumbled upon Ren'py after learning the term "visual novel" in itself. I've been searching for a game engine for my story, and I kept asking myself ... what are those one kind of Japanese games called ...? I was lucky I found it -- and this engine!
I have switched accounts to Aleema.

Hello, everyone. After a recent accomplishment of a lifetime goal, this was next on my list (to make a game) and apparently one day ideas came to me in a dream so I searched online for an engine that was free (thank goodness). I got a little experience in programming (still a noob though), can't draw, writing is iffy at times, so we will see how it goes.
