Someone told me that Final Fantasy X was originally going to be about a hero who would die in a years time, so he goes out on a personal quest to find his father before he died.

When I was told that I was upset, they should have kept going on with that plot and not what they had in Final Fantasy X >_<

Oh well, there is always Harvest Moon to play

I bought a ps2 about half a year ago (late buyer too yay) - still managed to get myself plenty of games. The only one I've completed so far is We <3 Katamari. But that's mostly because I started playing new games before finishing the last.

The games I've gotten a good bit into are Okami, Atelier Iris 2, Phantom Brave, Final Fantasy X, Rogue Galaxy and Dark Chronicle. Oh and Kingdom Hearts II since a friend recommended it but I only like the gummi ship (shooting) parts. xD

I've also been playing on my DS again recently. The reasons are namely Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates (I mostly play in multi with my sister) and Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice.

I love my PS2 but I still think it's a bit of a shame that people are getting it so late. There aren't that many games developed for it now and the ones that are are mostly movie licence games, which are always in abundance and never any good.
There are still a ton of great games for the PS2 but retailers are giving them less and less shelve space as the PS3 gains momentum, not to mention all of the games that simply are out of print. It's just a matter of time before used games is the only way to go.

I've never thought that way ô_o... I think on the contrary, a lot of very good games are still released... and they use the PS2 potential to its fullest now. Sure, I'm not looking for old games in particular, although I've taken advantage of some "white label" re-editions (y'know, the cheap ones) such as God of War 2.
Right now, I don't feel like I've missed much... is there anything *old* you consider a PS2 player *should* have?

Okay. I still buy games for the PS2 myself so the availability is still pretty okay. For instance you'll always find copies of Final fantasy games.. but I'm thinking about games like Ico, Disgaea, Gradius V and the Shin megami tensei series (prior to Persona 3). Those games are harder to come by now and they're some of my favourites.

When the 360 came out, the market for original xbox games died, or I should say "were killed", very swiftly and the same with the Wii/GC. The PS2 is a bit unique though because of it being such a massively successful console and the slow beginnings of the PS3.. but eventually Gamestop and EB will stop supporting it. Sony will definetly support it as long as they're selling, but I don't see many new games being made for it.. other than dumbed down multi-platform releases. At least here in the west.

Gigantic Drive(Robot Alchemic Drive for english release.)

Big robots? Check.
Childhood friend? Check.
A revolting rich daughter? Check.

Shinobi

Ninjas? Check.
Fast paced action? Check.
Cool factor? Check.
Hair-pulling difficult? Just what I need!

Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne(Also found with subtitles of Lucifer's Call)

Megami Tensei series? Check.
Hair-pulling difficult? Check.
Multiple endings? Check.
Talking to/Recruiting enemies an option? Check.
Having bosses you fought in your team? Check.
Having a male enemy going "W.. What do you think you are trying to do?! We are both men!"? Hell yes!

Showing you can still blow things up with cutesy and without violence? Check.
Oh, it even got a doujin game made for it? Check.

With P4 and ar tonelico 2 on December, I think it's still cool to keep your PS2, but will these kind of games will still be released in PS2? Thinking of selling my PS2 is hard... And which console has the best RPG or VN-kind-of games?

Selling my ps2? Haha... hah..... never! Especially since it seems my future ps3 will incapable of playing my collection of beloved ps2 games Anyway, I don't mind owning two consoles. I even have my ps1 still, it's good for emergencies, lol.
