Customizing Keymap for Android

#1 Post by damonRuru »

Hello!
Can someone help me?
are there any other keymap for android beside from gesture that i found on renpy documentation?
i was thinking of something like maybe double tap to do certain thing like opening setting or tap on the left side of the screen to rollback, something like that.

Tap on left/right of screen is already a feature (see "rollback side" in preferences)

I'm not sure how to go about multiple taps yet, but the gesture feature works nicely enough. Any reason you don't like it?

Oh really? but why it doesnt work when i ported a game i wonder? when i tap on the left side of the screen instead of rollback to earlier dialogue it only advance like how you normal tap.
and i dont exactly do not like the gesture feature, in fact i like it since i used it for hiding the dialogue box with swiping down and skipping by swipping right. i was just wondering if there are more keymapping out there to try :)

You can adjust the size (as screen ratio) using config.rollback_side_size = 0.2

None that I am aware of. I can only think of a few other controls you could add anyway.
Touchscreen interaction is rather limited.

Note, the following are hypothetical. Ren'Py does not currently support these as far as I know.

Perhaps multipoint touch, but not every device supports that, so you'd be leaving a lot of potential players out.

There's also gyroscopial control (shake your phone) but that's not very useful for much - it's hard to see the screen while shaking it.
Tilt controls might be useful for minigames.

Voice control?
I suspect this could have some uses especially for disabled people.
