Window show does nothing

#1 Post by jwideman »

This was asked before, but without a satisfactory ending. I've tested it with just the relevant lines - show image, say dialogue, show image with dissolve, window show, say dialouge - dialogue disappears during transition. I've tested it in a fresh project with just those lines and it still fails to do anything.
To be clear what I'm trying to accomplish, I display dialogue with a transparent background and when this transition comes up, a textbox with a black background appears. I don't want that to happen.

I believe what you want is window hide

That also did nothing at all. Not even "did something else that wasn't quite right," but didn't change anything.

All that did was make the text fade in, which isn't even remotely what I wanted. The unwanted textbox background still pops up, and the wanted dialogue disappears, during transitions.

How about window auto or window auto show?
You can atleast try it.

You mention transitions, what transition? The scene transition?

I think I understand your issue, but I'm not sure.
A clearer idea of what is happening and what you want to happen, may help.
Can you make some screenshots showing what you do not want or photoshop a mock example of what you do?
