Generally good size for a game?

#1 Post by Nano »

Hi, I'm a bit new to this. I was wondering what the general size for a 3 hour-ish game would be. I'm at around 2500 words so maybe 10 minutes? and at 143mb already. Probably because of the music and the art assets.

In terms of word count to time ratio, I personally find it's roughly 8k words = 1 hour. Your type of writing may vary.

As far as size of assets, you should want to minimize/optimize that as much as possible so it downloads quicker and the game loads faster. Using good codecs like webp for images or ogg for music results in small file sizes, for example.
