exe files in the Renpy games' "lib" folder keeps being dinged as malware

#1 Post by AERenoir »

I don't know why but Windows Defender is suddenly targeting various exe files of the "lib" folder in Ren'py games (zsync.exe, pythonw.exe).
I'm sure they are 100% safe sand not corrupted/infected, because I literally just downloaded them from this site or from itch.io
Any idea why this is happening? (sorry if this is not the right place to ask)

Hi AERenoir,
You could upload these files to Virustotal and have them scanned by all regular virus scanners, just to be sure.

Why on earth did I put the bread in the fridge?

Thanks. It appears that it was corrupted by malware. Did a full scan with my antivirus and cleaned out the computer, issue is now resolved.
