I'm also wondering what will happen with multiple lines of text. Will they start to overlap the image on the left?

Yeah, try going for a more opaque, or darker (or both) background for the text box

. The background looks nice. Good perspective

Thanks for the comments. Made the box darker and more opaque and rotated the spatula to not be in the way. I also muted the background a bit to not be so obnoxiously bright.

It's odd, but... the lineart makes her look a lot more mature than the colored version - to the point that I would believe it if you told me they were two different people (or the same person at different ages). The lineart has her face (chin, anyway) a bit more pointed, and the colored version seems to have squished the face a bit, vertically speaking. This makes the cheeks a bit more chubby, making her seem younger in that instance.

So, now I'm curious: Which were you trying for?

The new art is obviously better but it make her radically different. It almost as if she's grown mature (same person different age). It's alright if your intention is indeed changes Kurara's image. But if it isn't, then you should tweak her anatomy and shorten her chin a little.
Old Kurara = cute
New Kurara = pretty

Writing is moving faster than artwork. Looking to complete the first route within the month. Hopefully NaNoRenO will give me some much-needed motivation.

Yes indeed.

They're a mix of photography and filtering, and some are 3D renders. I'm pretty pleased with the results so far.

Wow. At first glance, I thought that the BG is hand-drawn. Although several seconds later, after seeing too many details, I know that it's a filtered photo.
