Thinking ahead - Marketing a VN

#1 Post by Yang Sei Fu »

Hello Lemma and everyone;

This is Yang Sei Fu from Project Journeys (A much silent project, since this thing is planned on commercial).

With the NA market so tuned to things like RTS and FPS's, the chances of having something like this go on market and to survive to see the light of the expense/profit breaking pointis like a miracle. Anyone have any idea that if these things are to go on, how will they do it?

Make it shareware. Have the first few forks available, then bam, an order form.

yeah... 'nuff said...

thats a good idea.. in fact.. thats how most commerical game demos work...
I play "Thief 2" a lot myself.. its demo was a scaled-down version of one of the missions...
or you can alternativly make a short version of a game.. like a short story and put an ad in the end of it... saying "come to http://www.blahblah.blah for more games and stuff"
