WIP - Heileen 2

#1 Post by jack_norton »

Just some preliminary screenshots. As you can see, Black survived ;) I don't know yet when I'll finish this one, much depends on other projects I'm working on with other people.

Will this game's starting point depends on the ending we got in the previous game?
I've played Heileen, you know, and curios about the word "The End?". XD

Well no, won't depend on that (since many people could have changed pc or lost savefile, etc) and there will be also an explanation why in the very beginning of the game.

I'm so glad the cat is OK. I thought he was done for! So is it going to be using one ending from the first heileen into the sequel?

Well no  I don't want to tell too much though! But probably soon will post a video so you know what I mean before the game is released.

You know what I just realized?

The typical phrase is that cats have nine lives. >w>

The number of lives cats are said to live varies from one culture to another. In french "Les chats ont 7 vies". Not as lucky as the english cats it seems :P

So I'm curious, do the French also call the whip "cat o'seven tails"?

to Preludian: Yes the hand is a cursor but my gf said it looks scary (like a severed hand!!! LOL) so I'm going to change it into a more cute sea-star or something sea related like a shell

The game though will still be teen+ age since there will be some particular situations...one of the tarot cards in particular think it would make already the game off-limits for many people (even if here in europe you can read comics for teenager with such images without problems):

Your girlfriend is right ;)

I guess with such a tarrot card it would be 16+ here in Germany.

Yeah :(
Well this game general atmosphere shouldn't be so "dark", however the artist did her job correctly. Tarot cards (and any religious illustration) of 17th century often had such images pictured... I can either ask her to change it or not. Some other sin cards are even more scary, gluttony is a "human-like" being with several mouths and no eyes

I wouldn't change them. They are very nice IMHO

But if you are so concerned about the age thing, although I think that your game is more aimed at adults from the subject and the character graphics, why not have an edition with not so scary tarot cards for 12+? Personally I wouldn't mind in this case and stick with 16+.
