{H} Worst Line in a B-Game

#1 Post by PyTom »

The purpose of this thread is to attempt to determine the worst line in a B-game. And then to mock it.

My nomination is from "Figures of Happiness".

Minamo
"I'm so jealous! I want to get diarrhea with Satoru too... Yeah, next time, I'll bring laxatives, and we can swallow them at the same time!"

So, can anyone think of a worse line than this?

That's an actual line from an actual game AND it's supposed to be ren'ai ?
Wow.
I could understand if it's supposed to be a comedy or one of those parody flash ren'ai , but otherwise...eww. Actually , still...eww.
What were they thinking?
Oh , right , they probably weren't thinking.

( whoa that's weird
....I thought I had almost pushed post
when I first worked on the above message
and then changed my mind
so it should've been sent by PM instead.
Apparently I messed up somewhere and now I'm wondering if I ending up with both a public post and a PM of the same message
*sighs* oh , well. *laughs* )

My nomination is Yujiro Mido from Slave Pageant. He had quite a few memorable lines, but the "best" had to be one he said in the end to the girl he raped the most - I love you.

.... you have SO dented my interest in getting a copy of Figures of Happiness with that quote.

Are there... *shudder*.... pictures? Is this another Water Closet?

Let me put in some words in defense of Figures of Happiness. It's one of the best, most story-oriented, games that has been commercially translated into English. It's a clean game with a very interesting premise, which it plays for both comedy and drama.

To put the quote in perspective, I need to discuss the scene it is associated with. Narumi is playing the POV character's girlfriend, and claims that they are so close, that they get sick at the same time. Minamo (who isn't the brightest) decides that she can do her one better, and gives the line above.

IIRC, the characters quickly realize that it's a bad idea. So it's not depicted in any way. So you don't need to worry about FoH being into a game featuring bodily functions.

From "Snow Drop", which has a very sweet plot, comes the following possible decision:
"Make love to her because Shizuka is within Kyoka."

...it's not what it sounds like, but it's a really weird thought anyway.

*phew* Okay. :)

That is a game I'm planning on picking up, but since they announced they were going to release a patch for the whole vmate thing I was planning on waiting until the details were worked out and buy it then.

At the thirty minute mark, Figures is pretty good. It isn't -compelling- yet, but it's not bad. (Trying to avoid spoilers.)

The translated Majipuri demo has any number of off the wall lines. Trying to remember, I looked at Insani.org and found this one in a screenshot: "You saw it, you saw it, you saw it, YOU SAW IT, DIDN'T YOU?!"
"Welcome to WhiteSnow, a town filled with snow. Enjoy the world of snow."

You mean that's not a normal thing to say in the course of a romantic conversation?

I've used none of them, and I still can't get a halfway normal girl if my life depended on it. (long reason why I'd settle for halfway normal...)

It sounds like PyTom is the winner. I think pretty much any diarrhea line is about as bad as it can get... Makes me think of the first episode of Marmalade Boy...

So, can anyone think of a worse line than this?
Player - "But there's a door to the living room all ready?"
Girl - "Then I shall make you brekfast!"

This is from an hentai RPG/Bishoujo game called Mad Paradox translated into english in 1983. In this scene the player greets the girl with this line outside followed by a scene of domestic bliss and then the game ends.
The mind boggles.
"God and Buddah, if you really do exist please know ........................ YOU ARE BOTH MY ENEMY!"

Just curious, did the game contain those spelling errors? I'm glad to see that most imported games have a lot better translation than they used to... "All your base are belong to us" sound familiar to anyone?

heh heh heh...
"How are you gentleman!"
"You have no chance to survive make your time"
"All your base are belong to us"
straight from Zero Wing. worst. translation. job. ever. I could possibly do a better job than that. (and I lack all JP comprehension!)

I assume there are no worse b-game lines to mock... yet.
