Do you have any (PC) recommendation?

So, I always end up having half of my lunch break free, and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendation for PC games (yes, I can install them, as long as I have a legal copy) that I might be able to play half an hour here and half an hour there.
I kind of dislike the idea of playing visual novels, as they have a story, and I'd be distracted for the rest of the day if I stopped on a cliffhanger... but I can't think of anything I might be able to play casually, while waiting for the lunch break to finish.

I should really remember to bring come paper and draw stuff...

Games? what sort of games? that's awfully vague...

I recommend searching google for flash games, there is quite a bit of variation and they are perfect to waste half of an hour while not getting attached at the same time

Osmos was a pretty good lunchbreak game.

Do you like Dungeon Crawlers? Elona's another good coffeebreak roguelike.

I tend to play Peggle when I'm looking for just a quick burst of something to do for a few minutes. Levels don't take long and there's no need to finish X bit of story RIGHT NOW or frantically try to remember it later after a break.

Heh, the request was purposely vague, other than a game which can be played half an hour here and there, I'm not limited to a genre. :P

You should play the drawing-maids game. You don't even need a PC to play it, just some paper and a pencil!

Failing that, Cave Story! Persevere!

I'd recommend Cave Story too. Beating effin Ballos always feels like such an accomplishment.

Aquaria's a great game but it doesn't really lend itself to casual play, does it? It's not so simple to pick up, play a bit, and set down again. (For one, you have to reach save points.)

Good point, papillon. Well... in a vain attempt at justification, it takes about an hour to get from one save point to another if you play continuously and as for casual play... it's mouse-controlled! It must be a casual game!

Here are 99 free games to eat your lunch breaks. Most are flash-based and short. Some are excellent, like Canabalt. I'd never have expected myself to spend so much time on a single-button game..

I wrote mini-reviews about six free Windows platform games, here. If you like Mario gameplay, Super Mario 63 is awesome, and I played it in lunchtimes at work.

I also wrote about four awesome games here - Portal, Aquaria, Braid and Iji. The first three are cheapish commercial; Iji's free, and possibly the best of the bunch, particularly for short bursts of casual gaming.

Rollercoaster Tycoon. You might not be able to finish a level in half an hour, but you can save any time you like... Or just go evil, stick a no entry sign up in front of the entrance, blow a few rollercoasters up and drown everyone.

I managed to complete Baldur's Gate II: Sahdows of Amn in half hour chunks back in the day, though the load times ate up a bit of that.

Worms Armageddon is pretty fun, and doesn't last too long (unless you keep drawing). I like Ninja Roping over and dropping a Holy Hand Grenade.

The Monkey Island games are great fun.
