Help me by answering some simple school-related question

#1 Post by Coatl » Mon Jan 11, 2010 5:57 am

hi I'm writing a story about a young man that relives highschool. basically a story about a college student that is miserable who gets a second chance to make a name for himself in high school. so in order for me to flesh out, i asked my self; "What would i do different in high school?" i wrote it down and came up with a laundry list of things.

But i dont want this story to end up about me, i want this character to represent all of us in the game so I ask you this.
"If you can relive high school, what would you do different?"

Gauken Redux
Sorry but it's already been done, almost exactly like that.
But I guess you can still make your own you just have to make sure it's unique.
I'm further sorry that I can't help you here, I have a very Emiya Shiro attitude on stuff like this,

Good luck with your story.

I would have begged earlier and more firmly to transfer out.

I would have actually gone to high-school for one year for the chemistry labs and geometry and sciences and have went to the prom with a hot date instead of dual-enrolling in college at fifteen.

I was treated like underage jailbait by every single classmate I had, instead of like an actual human being, while my fiance remained hundreds of miles away—unable to truly help me...
Don't worry, we can get through it together. I didn't forget about you! I just got overwhelmed.

Hmm...

I should have really insisted on transferring to another school/class; my class was full of people I couldn't really get close to for 13 years.
I would have liked to understand that I really shouldn't care about how destructive people are to themselves and that they can do with their lives whatever the heck they want and I shouldn't have cared, the same way they didn't care about me.

I would have liked to actually go to all those extra curricular classes I always wanted to attend but never took and be more relaxed with academics in general >>

And I should have insisted on my idea of studying what I wanted instead of giving up to my mom's pressure of studying something that would give me a better financial situation =_=

Hmm... Maybe seen my friends more often out of school?

I don't really have any regrets... Though I would like to live my past again.

here's mine so we can really dig deep.

there was a girl i had a crush on up until last month. that was 2009. I started liking her in freshman year of high school , 2004.
I was so awkward at the time and just a bashful as i can be now.
so if i wet back, i'd talk to her more. I'd take advantage of what i know about her now although maybe hilariously i might end up talking things she likes more recently and might get a weird look. But who knows maybe she would have grown to like me better then. who knows? *shrug :)*
I would also talk less about my obsessions, i was really into kingdom hearts and i could talk about it for days on end.

senior year though there was a girl who i really trusted and one night she got drunk and told me she wanted to... do me. But she told me she was in love with her current boyfriend way before this event. So i had to reject her, selfishly i thought about taking her, she was cute and loving, gave even the best messages in the world. Morally, however, i cant do it, she loves this magilla-gorilla looking dude and i dont want to be the reason for them to fall apart... i felt like too much of a loser to do that.
to put salt on the wounds, she constantly talked shit to me afterwards and her friend pedro called me a faggot.
it got to the point where i had to threaten her that i'd release the text messages online she sent me and i told pedro that he had no right calling me what he did because the whole school supects that he's in fact gay.

so if i went back to senior year i'd be friends but would avoid he drunken self and then i'd try to settle on being friends with pedro.

Ah, is not high school sweet? =w=

I'm surprised more people haven't shared their gut wrenching tales of long lost loves and adolescent trysts. You know, the very stuff that we need romance visual novels to get us forget. Hufufufu... >:3

Lol, I never had any romance problems in highschool xD

In fact I had a crush on this smart, cute and popular prince charming guy for 3 years.
Everybody in school knew and some classmates would kind of bullied me about it because I was too shy to go talk to him (they'd drag me while I was crying and drop me in font of him. The poor boy didn't know what to do D:)
Somehow I ended up befriending his best friend and getting closer to him and he kind of grew used to have me around gushing for him, lol. When he realized that me and the best friend were getting too close, he decided to make a move and asked me out.
I was later known as "lady perseverance" around highschool, because I persevered so much in my crush on him it actually worked... somehow xD

He was my first boyfriend and I was his first girlfriend, it was a sweet relationship that lasted for 3 and a half years :P Though at the beginning I was more of a fangirl whose dream has come true than a decent girlfriend, lol.

We broke up in college when he took engineerings and I took design, and realized that we had nothing in common besides high school xD; (He'd get so excited talking about this new physics formula he learned, and I would go "hmmm... ok", and he'd do the same when I would be so excited about the new art material or the drawing I'd spent 4 hours on xD)

It was painful as hell to break up, though D: We were super naive and we truly believed that if we were good enough and did things right, we'd be together forever, so watching those dreams shatter in front of our eyes was very painful. Yay for growing pains, lol.

The only thing I'd change about all that is that I was a super selfish self-centered person and I was too dependent on this boyfriend figure, so I was demanding and jealous D:. I always felt it was my fault that we never developed a stronger relationship and common interests, and if I could go back I definitely would be a better girlfriend and care about my partner's feelings and dreams and all instead of being just a whiny childish bitch~~

(of course karma later gave me a whiny demanding boyfriend that centered his life around me, so I learned first hand what my poor high school boyfriend had to endure while being with me, haha)

Same here -_-

Other than that though, even it's far from perfect and I'm pretty damn sure I can do a lot better, I don't (or can't to be exact) regret any of my high school life. Just ... treasure the present, think a little about the future ... and remember the past a bit to avoid doing the same mistakes.

I'm sure that if you want to regale us with tales of your teenage years, people will happily listen, Samu. :P

If I could go back in school, I'd be a yanki, befriend a lolita and head butt this one girl who bullied me all the time.
Maybe even try to develop a deep, sultry voice.
