What the?! It fails to realize that something with an underscore is a phrase, not just two words written next to each other by curious chance? Am I really supposed to make a new topic every time I want to see if anyone's had a similar question in the past? What happened to the proud principles of Don't Repeat Yourself and the concept of forums as collected wisdom of the ages? This is stupid..Search term used: show transform ignored: show

I proclaim the phpBB search useless!
I am a calm person, but this makes me angry. I had realized that the forum search ignores terms it considers too common, according to the number of times they have been mentioned in the forum. That annoyed, but I could live with. But seriously, this implementation is ridiculous. Today I tried to search for show_transform to see if anyone had tried to use the say statement with a transition. This resulted in the following statement:

Yes I stumbled into that too myself and I agree with you, the search "done the phpbb way" it's a bit useless!

Yup, phpBB search is pretty bad.
However, Google can do site-specific queries

I released 3 VNs, many moons ago: Elven Relations (IntRenAiMo 2007), When I Rule The World (NaNoRenO 2005), and Cloud Fairy (the Cute Light & Fluffy Project, 2009).
More recently I designed the board game Steam Works (published in 2015), available from a local gaming store near you!

Alternatively you can try a custom Google search just for the RenPy (it will not return results from the whole internet but only from this forum, RenPy wiki and few other manually selected sites). Google says it's still in beta so expect a few quirks here and there but it mostly works:
RenPy custom search here.
You can even put it as a new search in browsers like Opera, so it's very practical.

I've upgraded the search engine to use the postgresql native fulltext searching. Although it's not perfect, it should be quite a bit faster and more correct than the current search engine.

Thank you, this is better. Alas, a bug still cropped up. Search term show_transform and show results as topics..

I've altered the code so this shouldn't happen.

So don't do that. There are some things obscure enough that they trigger error conditions, and this is one of them.
