Reikun wrote:I think the NVL screen looks okay with the characters/environments! The only thing is that it feels like the bottom left corner is so empty since the top right is so full?? Have you tried flipping the left border vertically (and if you did/do try, does it look weird?) As it is, it feels top heavy since a lot of the pattern is near the top of the screen which is also where the focus is for text/character's faces so I feel as though you should balance the NVL borders instead of mirroring it.
I could just be me (.__.)
I'll see what I can do.
Updated the first post and renamed the project. It'll now be known as Death Rule: Lost Code (stylized as Death Rule:lost code)

The UI is now done (*handcuffs self to keep from reediting it for the 7th time*) and the writing sits at just shy of 18k words (not including Iarumas' episode) I'll release another short demo within the next month or so if possible. (Which will include the "ending" for trying to play through the Final Episode without clearing the other two.) And for those who want to show some support, I've uploaded a few banners. If your favorite character isn't up there, feel free to let me no so I can make one for them.

Hey guys, I'm the writer for "The Final Rule" episode. Just here to say that the writing is 20% done for the first draft and going well. It's been fun and I hope you all enjoy "The Final Rule" when the game is released. Here's a quick summary to wrap things up:
A young boy named Dwight finds himself thrown head first into "The Death Game" when he awakens in a mysterious forest one day. He had never believed the stories, but the truth is clear to him as he finds himself stuck in the middle of a conflict that may very well cost him his life. The bad news: everyone seems to have it out for him. The good news: except for one person. They help Dwight in his fight for survival and reveal to him the final rule to surviving "The Death Game"...
I played the demo recently, and I'm really excited to play the full game.
By reading the posts in this thread, I understand that there is some sort of guide to understanding the world better. But I don't feel it quite necessary. I already got the gist of the setting, and the lack of further information sparks a curiosity.
I immediately loved most of the male characters. They had various vivid personalities! Among the girls, I found it difficult to distinguish personalities. The only girl unique was Lily(? Sorry I'm very bad with names) But that could just be me.
In any case, I highly enjoyed the demo! ^^

Thanks for playing the demo
The guide I spoke of earlier was just something that gave some background information. Currently, Im thinking of adding it to the game so that people can read it after completing the 3 storylines.
Thanks for the input on the characters. Fortunately for my case, I still have a chance to fix that.
Again, thanks. And thank you for the input

The first of two CG's that will appear in the 2nd Demo is now done. The 2nd demo will just have Lost Code as the only available scenario which will have 1 ending.
