Do you play as same or opposite gender?
Re: Do you play as same or opposite gender?
Usually play as female if the option is available, but not overly fussed either way.

Re: Do you play as same or opposite gender?
I play whichever looks more appealing to me, which is usually the female. But if there is a way to be gender ambiguous (either by customisation or, which I have never seen applicable outside storynexus games, choosing "My gender? None of your beeswax!") I will go for it.

I almost always pick a female character first, especially for games with "behind the character view". Watching girl's behinds is more important than romance. :p I did replay all three ME's and F3 with a male character however, to see what I missed in romantic options.

Re: Do you play as same or opposite gender?
I tend to play as my own gender whenever possible, simply because it feels a bit more realistic (and natural, I guess?). And besides, like many others have pointed out, females usually looks a teeny tiny bit better than the males (i.e. Dragon Age and Mass Effect).
But in games where you don't get to choose, I'm completely fine with playing as a male (because when there's no choice, it's usually always male).

Whaaat ? You mean that even in action packed games, you prefer staring at a girl's butt instead of checking what's going on in front of her ? ^^'''''''''leon wrote:I almost always pick a female character first, especially for games with "behind the character view". I always play as a woman - without exception.
I'm male myself though. ;_;

I usually play as a female (opposite gender); simply because... they never know how to make guys! They either look too buff or boring. If they made them more pretty, with cool outfits; I would be more inclined. But from my experience, it is far more fun to dress up the girls. Plus, in games like Mass Effect, FemShep is probably the coolest badarse when playing 'evil'. Especially in the first game. Gave me chills.

I like playing as both female and male but I realised I generally go for females.
Hmmm.

Re: Do you play as same or opposite gender?
I usually go for my own gender (female), although there are exceptions. One of the said exceptions is Rune Factory TOD, where the female playable character is such a ditzy girl. You couldn't tempt me to play as someone who's almost always clueless even with the cute romantic interests.

Re: Do you play as same or opposite gender?
I have two files and play as both genders when given the option to choose. If I had to choose one gender only the one I'd pick would depend on the MCs, characters, and the genre of the game. Sometimes I'd rather be a female and sometimes I'd prefer to be a guy.
In-Progress:
Floret Bond, XOXO Blood Droplets, Our Life
Released:
A Foretold Affair, My Magical Divorce Bureau, XOXO Droplets, Lake of Voices

Re: Do you play as same or opposite gender?
Well I tend to make characters for both genders (customization is fun ok), but more of my time goes to the female.
Have any of you tried playing Saints Row 3 as a chick? 10x more hilarious.

I usually play as female, my opposite gender, because i tend to choose whatever that looks better xD, some how the design of male characters in the games that i have played are just not good enough, sometimes i play as male when i'm forced to though xD

I actually chose the female MC 1 upon hearing her voice. I got a laugh out of the fact that she was also Kainé from Nier. She is seriously badass.Pencey wrote:Well I tend to make characters for both genders (customization is fun ok), but more of my time goes to the female.

Re: Do you play as same or opposite gender?
I usually play as my gender (because it feels more natural I assume) but in the cases where the female character has stats/abilities that I prefer (for example I like using ranged weapons instead of swords and the like) I will usually pick her.
Or if the game offers the choice of having multiple characters (Like some MMO's) I start as a male and my second character is female.
