The game was released in 1996 by doujin group. Aaaand it's actually hard to tell if the game was free or commercial. So unless Team Gris Gris bought rights for this game too, it's quite legal to post link. Meh, removed the link anyway. If you want to play, PM me.

BTW there is an interesting question. Is Team Gris Gris are the same people who made this game (Kenix soft), or are they just used setting and plot without asking anybody (or bought the rights)?

The PC-98 game was indeed free. It was submitted as an entry in a RPGMaker development contest, and ASCII distributed the game after selecting it as a winner.

Nevertheless, free distribution can't be assumed for doujin games.

This game looks pretty visceral, but is there more to it than basic shock value? I'm guessing there's a deeper psychological element, but it's hard to tell from the trailers.

Since it's supposed to come out later this year (or so I heard) I'm going to save my card to buy that. Well, assuming it's not like Persona and costs $40. In which case, screw that, I'll buy Parasite EVE 1 and 2 and Cladun. >8| (I read it's not *supposed* to be expensive, but people have varying opinions on what's considered expensive).

Yeah, they just announced the time and price on their Twitter a few days ago. Clearly the best time to release this was right before (American) Thanksgiving.

Hm, looking through the gallery gives me the feeling this game is going to be...less than subtle. I'm still willing to give it a shot, though.

You will come for the gore, and stay for the plot. Simple as that. I went ahead a bought a PSP already, now I am waiting warmly.

Also, the screenshots are mearley for shock value, it really isn't pure gorn. Unless you get a Wrong End...*shudders*

Gore is the last thing that attracts me to anything nowadays (the torture porn genre 'genre' has pretty much ruined that for me). Otherwise, yeah. Seems like an interesting plot. Could do without the apparent panty shots of teenage girls, but eh, I've seen worse. Good god have I seen worse.

I like horror, and all I really ask is that I don't actively want these characters to die.

I am not sure if it was posted here because I can't seem to find it...but was the game recorded with Dummy Head Mic? I remember reading somewhere another game than the upcoming fairytale-storytelling otome game Kannou Mukashibanashi is having dummy ehad mic recording; was it Corpse Party?
