Does anyone know where the default Ren'py icon is located when it is built so I can just switch that out? I'm so baffled on how to go about this.

I use the .tar.bz2 version:
/launcher/game/images/
But the sdk will not start if you remove them. So, maybe I'm wrong...

I think this is not a renpy issue, but more a linux issue (Sorry, it doesn't help...)

Yes looks like you right. (https://askubuntu.com/questions/72451/w ... y-launcher)
So how about having a game.desktop file and copy it to "$HOME/.local/share/applications/" ?

That's not the same problem that OP has. He/she uses Windows system.
He/she has some random bug.
@OP: can you test the .tar.bz2 archive? I see there is 'renpy.exe'

Sorry, I guess I've focused on that post, since I work on Debian linux and I test windows builds only in the very end and on a virtual machine.

Umm, not sure how much it matters and it's been a year now, but... config.windows_icon = "icon" or config.windows_icon = "icon.png" might both be failing because of the extra "s" in config.window"S"? Shouldn't it be config.window_icon = "icon.png"?
