Small update
Wrote a fairly short, new scene. It's around 510 words.
I guess there isn't any shame in it not being more words, it's as long as it needs to be, after all, and adding more words into something that doesn't need them could do more bad than good.
I'm happy because I got to split things. What I mean is~ that I have a base seen written, and depending on what's happened in the story, it splits into one of several branching scenes.
The scene I've just written today is one of the branching ones, and one of the other branching scenes is close to done as well.
So, even though in the past, I've written scenes which may only appear in a particular path, seeing this scene that actually splits in the middle is fun for me.

20,000 words
From what I can find typed up on my computer, even though much of it still needs editing, I've reached about 20,000 words.
As I'm typing this, I'm thinking against it- but then I saw that if I post this, it'll mean I've also reached the 100 post milestone as well.
And besides... I think you guys deserve to know that I've reached this point.

Post Christmas Update:
For Christmas, my father sent me a really nice journal to write in, and I got way too much chocolate
I've been making use of the journal, writing scenes for my VN, so don't you all worry.
I hope your Christmas was good too

Re: The Silent Column [PostApocalypse][SciFi][drama][mystery
I'm still here, just writing in the background some times
I've written a few scenes but I haven't been writing as much as I'd like to. I'm hoping to do more tomorrow for sure.
The scenes I'm currently working on are just following Tashen, his sister, and classmates around as they talk and live out the last day of their normal lives together before The End occurs.
Aside from writing my VN,

Aside from writing my VN,
I've been starting to study Japanese again like I used to do. A nice lady from Church who moved to Canada (where I live) from Japan 8 years ago are friends and we're studying together. Today was our first kind of... appointment (?) together and we talked about all kinds of stuff.
And we both agree that... there are a lot of things about Japan that are very unhealthy, like...:
In Japan you are very much encouraged to hide what you actually feel, which leads to a lot of problems because people aren't machines, and since they repress everything it's no wonder why there's so much messed up perverted anime and manga and visual novels out there.
They generally want to agree with people and don't want to say no because it could hurt people's feelings.
They generally value education too too much. I've been told that the leading cause of death in all age groups is over working.
...
I don't mean to offend people with this. Of course, I'm not referring to any one Japanese person but I'm commenting on things as a whole here, and I'm sorry for being ignorant because I'm sure I don't know everything and I'm sure there are people (like my friend) who are objections to what I've said.
But all I'm saying is... that all seems extremely unhealthy. I hope things change over there for the better, you know?

I think it's neat that you listed the ages in Tashen's POV. It's always great to see you updating Keep up the good work!

Great to hear you're excited to be working on this again!! *U* Are you feeling better now?
Are you planning on updating the synopsis in your first post to reflect any changes you made to the story? Or is the synopsis still pretty much accurate?

Re: The Silent Column [PostApocalypse][SciFi][drama][mystery
Hmm, perhaps I should update the synopsis. It is still pretty accurate, but it is now just one piece of the story, not the full story.
It's like if someone wrote a visual novel about the events of a school field trip, then later expanded on the VN, showing how the events that happened before the trip and what happens after the trip. The trip still happened but the story is now bigger and has bigger conflict/character developing arcs and stuff.
I'm happy to hear that you're excited over my excitement
I am feeling better now, though I'm still looking for work. Thanks for your concern

Re: The Silent Column [PostApocalypse][SciFi][drama][mystery
I completed the rough of a scene titled: "A long time ago- Good night"
Skimming through the events of a night in the past, through the eyes of April Vanu.
In this scene, Vanu is surprised to find Amy tapping at her room's window.
When she's asked what she's doing out, Amy tells that her dad is away for work, today.
She searched for the hidden key around her house, but found it missing.
Amy is let in by April, who fetches her a glass of water, and a night gown.
Vanu catches sight of a markings on Amy's body, showing that her father is still giving her injections, to Vanu's sadness.
Amy explains that her father is doing good work, and loves her very much. She only wants to help him.
After a brief argument, the girls go to bed.

Re: The Silent Column [PostApocalypse][SciFi][drama][mystery
Created a scene which I won't name on here.
In this scene, a certain character is found dead and abandoned by their family.
Later, people mock the one who died, and a character is pushed with rage to kill.
The killing blow was blocked, and the main mocker along with the character who tried to kill, are sent to rest in separate rooms and get medical treatment.
