The Firebird

#1 Post by Vicarious »

This team lacks an artist.
Rather than just posting a request in forum threads, we thought it would be more polite to present a "finished" game.

The Firebird is based on the fairy tale of the same name.

It is a totally playable VN with 2 endings.

And terrible clip art.

In a VN, to me the story is key. I enjoyed your variation on the firebird legend.
Your artwork was acceptable to me..
I'm surprised nobody else offered comments.
I would suggest looping the sound to reduce file size.
Some of my visual novels are at http://www.the-new-lagoon.com. They are NSFW
Poorly done hand-drawn art is still poorly done art. Be a Poser (or better yet, use DAZ Studio 3D) - dare to be different.

I could see the problem why no one would comment(in my own opinion kk?)

Even if you say that the story is based on a fairytale with the same name, how would everyone know that, its not that all people in the forum knows about that tale nor they have any interest to search for it(i for one won't bother).

Yeah, its based on that tale? But what kind? What's the story? Even if you say there are two endings, that's all we know. We need more info. about your game whether we would like to play it or not.

No hard feelings on this post, I'm also a noob and i haven't even released a game myself but observing in this community make me realize those points.

Firebird? the Russian Firebird story about a bird that ate the king's apples?
Is there any other version of this legend?

Yes there are other versions. The visual novel is has several points in common with the version by the Brothers Grimme.
I remember another version where the story starts with a young archer finding a feather from the Firebird. The archer's magical horse warns him not to keep the feather but the archer doesn't listen and trouble soon begins. When a king finds out about the feather, he sends the archer on a series of difficult missions.

Very respectfully,
