Hmm, what to say ?... I don't know where the game is going right now (though I have a clearer and clearer idea), and this is why I'm not *actively* looking for help and asking around for content. I kinda did about a month ago but I realized soon enough that the project wasn't properly structured.
Right now, I'm not asking for anything but am glad to see there *are* people interested in helping. The summer will probably be gone when things really start moving.

I've had a few particular "gameplay" concepts for a VN-styled game for a while. I want UP to have some of them but I have no proof that it's feasible or even interesting. So... I'll be trying to at least make one or two examples of each concept. I'm *not* asking for help on these things if I'm not sure I can do them myself first.
The intro thing is going really well so far and I just have to script/write things for it now... So I doubt there'll be any big problems with it.
When it comes to the rest of the game, I have no certainty yet. Problem is : I can't work on it until the intro is done and lays the base for everything else.

I'd say... see you in September ^^;.

BCS : glad to hear you'll use some of them ^^

All : And yep, we all like finished games ^^;... I *want* to finish this project. I almost gave up, but the fact I took it up really motivates me. Means it *is* important to me instead of some fad.
I also know about having a skeleton before-hand, but last time I tried this, I got quickly bored because I had only theory and nothing to see/show. I've tried both methods for projects and even though working without a skeleton (at least in the beginning) is risky, it's a big motivation factor for me. I think I need it.
Once I reach the more "gameplay" part of the game, I'll be able to make more diagrams and plan ahead, since I'll know what structure the game will follow.

So um yea... you don't have to get your hopes high and stuff, but don't abandon all faith either ^^;...

Thought I'd make a little screenshot, even though it has three... four... arg, *only* temporary art in it ^^;...

Except for *right now*, I haven't been working on the script lately... Mostly drawings and technical aspects (see MoveEase and Zoom discussions in the RenPy section ^^). But I'm still planning on a french release for the end of the month. English release should probably take one or two more weeks.
I wanted to have a "original-art only" release at first but I think this'll have to wait because there's just too many faces and charas to make ^^;.
So yes, except a second demo soon... one that clearly focuses on the story. I'll need opinions to see if I'm doing this well ^^;

Good luck on that, I'm looking forward to some neat effects ^_^. And the story... of course! ^_^

Closer and closer ! Work has been a bit slower but I finally got myself to work on some missing art. I don't think I'll have everything filled up by the time the demo is released but I'll try to avoid as many silhouettes and gray BGs as possible ^^;.

Lil treat for those who wait :

And a few original faces (yet not colored :( ) :

The rapidshare file from April still works! I better get this thing first thing tomorrow

I've been hearing awesome things about this demo. I'm especially excited to learn that you went overboard with effects. Yup, I'm going to subject my 1.3Ghz with it, see how it stacks up.

Did it work ? I tried earlier but their servers seem to be down ^^;... *wanted to see the old demo*.

Using this occasion to sadly announce that I've been really bad at managing my sleep time lately which has led to very slow progress :/. My french release date of the 1st of September just won't be possible (eh, we all expected that...). This weekend should allow me to work a lot though... *crosses fingers*.

Yup it worked. (the website earlier this week, as well as the actual demo.) Really looking forward to see those character drawings in sprite action.

And sleep is good.

So this demo will be like...30 minutes long?

More than one hour for a playthrough. Probably worth two hours of content if you replay to see everything... *whistles* ^^;

Cool looking sprites. I must have a terrible memory for the characters' appearances, though, I don't recognize whose face that is. :(

Aw, well... I'm not good at making all faces look the same either ^^;... First two are of Fabellia the pirate (seen in color in the Effects demo). Last two are of the girl seen above, left. Glad you like the sprites ^^.
Btw, did you ever manage to run the demo ? ô_o... *remembers font problems*

Yeah, I did. I ended up downloading a more recent demo.

Wait, didn't I? ...

Oops, sorry, I confused this game for Thermopylae. I'm an idiot. >_<

Haha, we have too many Sci-fi games in progress right now ^.^. Well you'll get the second demo soon anyway, so don't sweat it ^.^

Ok, ok... that "french" part kinda breaks this announcement :(... But since some of you here can read french, I thought it wouldn't be too far fetched to post it anyway until everything gets translated ^^;...

I hope this works @_@;..........

Just a reminder : this is still just a demo ! But this time it's totally playable from start to finish. Nothing is missing gameplay/story-wise.
Expect about 2 hours of content for a single run-through.
Playing through twice should show enough new content to be worth it.
Playing four times mean you'll have seen everything.

Musics are from Chrono Cross, Super Robot Taisen Alpha 3, Romanesque and some random source I'll have to fetch when things get really official ^^;
Some backgrounds use free-to-use photographs. I'll also have to quote the source later.
Sounds are from I-War and various websites with free-to-use sounds (blabla, fetch source later @_@)
Most faces are from the Gloria game, one set being from Romanesque. The ones in black and white are by me.
That single voice clip is by me. Same thing for character art (as unfinished as it is @_@) and all other backgrounds...

Errrr... I probably forget a lot of stuff... eh @_@... I'll edit this later ^^;...

ENGLISH USERS : if you are really eager, you *can* play this demo. It has a rather long english part (30 minutes at least). If you want to see it, follow the spoiler :
Go to Arena, open the crate. Stop when you reach Urbania and it starts going wonky >.>.... There will probably be some scenes with no text... I'm not sure anymore ^^;
