Free Artist/Programmer[Closed]

#1 Post by OdysseyStudio » Sat Aug 06, 2011 3:37 pm

Well I'm an Artist/Programmer in training, or at least training outside what I can do that is. I'm not that great, but I really need to get the training in so I can be more confident in doing commissions and make a career out of my work.
Here's What I can do:

Character Sprites:
-I can do Sketches, Lineart, Coloring, the whole works. Though it may take awhile to do.

-Backgrounds:
I use Google sketch to design my buildings then import my scene on to Gimp and Continue on from there. Mostly learn from mugenjohncel tutorials.

-Ren'Py Game UI Design:
I can help you with the UI layout design of your game.

-Ren'py Programming:
This is the part I really like doing most of the time. At first when I started using Ren'Py, I want to port a VN called "Clannad" over to Ren'Py. I got to about to finishing the first week but my computer crashed on me and I lost everything. So What I'm trying to say, I do know my way around the SDK and how to program and understand code with confidence. At least at an Amateur level. ^^' But like I said I do enjoy doing this.

-CG Scene:
To Be honest with you, I'm not all that great with these, but I'm willing to give them a try.

My requirements/Boundaries:

-I will need references to work with please.

-All my free artwork is will be license under the Creative Common License. In other words any one can use my work for non-commercial purposes. All I ask of you is to credit me in your work if you are using them. If they are used for commercial purposes, I would like some sort of payment in that.( Hey I gotta make money somehow.)

-Please be committed with the project you set up. If you lose motivation, I will too.

-Once your project is done, that when I'll release the artwork for public use. That is unless you request me not to. And I'll respect your request.

-I do have a moral code, so please don't have me do any of that perverted stuff.

Well that all I guess. I am open to other types of work for other things as well.
Thank you. ^^

The artist's world is limitless. It can be found anywhere, far from where he lives or a few feet away. It is always on his doorstep.

Sure I'll be willing to give it a shot. What are exactly are you looking for in your Sprite Characters?

Well, depends by what you mean. (I think I may be reading it incorrectly) If you mean "style" I could provide an example of what style. If you mean how they look, well it's modern, so various modern-day clothing and looks. Though, a couple of the character have a couple of animalistic traits.

Yeah, Style, traits, looks anything that pertains to the character(s). I'll start with the Journalist I guess and work my way down the list. So Any references or any suggestions you want for him just let me know, and I'll have something down to you by tomorrow or Monday.

Ok, for Abraham:

He has a tired look, has green eyes, hay-colored hair spiked up, and a goatee. He wears an untucked short sleeved black button-up dress shirt, and faded jeans.
Only special request: No large eyes for the males, it bothers me quite a bit to see a man with large eyes.

Would you be willing to do the Game UI design for my game I am making
http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewto ... 16&t=10908

The Game UI design (that is how the text box looks like and stuff like that isn't it)
If UI design is how the text box and etc looks then I would like it if you can design it for me I know what I want it to look like so I will send you a hand drawn sketch. Another thing I want to know is I might sell my game if it turns out good enough in the end but that is a long way away, so how much would you charge for UI designs if it turns out to be good enough to be selled.

One more thing can you please post a example of a background you have made it would let people see your skills.

@HigurashiKira
Alright I'll get right on it.^^

@Mickychi
With UI Design, It mainly the whole look and feel of the game system itself. With that in mine, I'll be willing to help do the Textbox(Dialog Box is what I call it). It even more of a plus that your sending concept stuff as well. It a real big help.

About examples and stuff you can look at my Deviantart Site. Although ever since my computer crashed a few month ago, I've been neglectful of it for a long, long time now. Plus I lost a lot of my work that I've been working on, and life got in the way, and stuff. But after some time, I got a hold of my self and now I want to start drawing more often again. Dang it too awhile to get my motivation back again...

Edit: With Prices, to be honest with you, I don't know yet...^^'

Yay okay I will send you the sketch once I finish it either today or tomorrow, and can you also help with the design of the preferences screen (like the layout and how I want it to look, I might ask for you to help with other stuff as well later if I need anything) And also about if my game does get sold in the end I will talk about it with you more later when the game is close to finishing or something. (But I still would like to know how much this will cost if it does get sold just a price range if you can)

Sure I'll be willing to help you out with the overall UI design(menus and All) if your willing. Can't wait to see the concept sketches for the Dialogue box. Glad to be working with you. With pricing, to be honest with you, I really don't know yet. We'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Well, I don't need a programmer so much, but an artist could come in very handy about now.

Academy Daze is s slice of life/BxG thing that needs a not-trivial amount of assets, and with my primary artist off to college, we'll be lucky to get it all together before she graduates. I can give you a link to the script and additional material, including detailed descriptions and sample images for BGs. There are some other options as far as detailed discussion goes. I'll send you a PM with a bit more info if you're interested at all.
I'm going to get off my soap-box now, and let you get back to your day.

Academy Daze- Back in production! Complete with ecchi-ness ;)

@DarkSpartan
Alright, go ahead and send me your pitch and I'll think about. I don't want to bite off more than I can chew right now.

@NewMember
Why don't you try Devaintart. I'm sure someone out there will be willing to do that for you. Right now, I want to do VN related stuff, but thanks for asking me though.
