There are more al|together 06 games:
Shooting Star Hill http://at2006.haeleth.net/game.php?id=17
A Dream Of Summer http://at2006.haeleth.net/game.php?id=16

At least one of the downloads is very sizeable - almost 100MB, which is a lot.

But it looks like both games are more or less my cup of tea, so I'm looking forward. :P

Theres a few more in the pipeline too =o.
A Dream of Summer is relatively long, taking about probably an hour and a half to two to complete all paths. It's also fully voiced, which is pretty impressive ^^.

But if your talking epicly long free doujin games... I have a title that takes the cake away from all the other at2kx games. Heck, its longer then all of them combined >.>;;.

Will you guys ever see it? I hope so... that is if I can manage to survive editing the obscenely huge script. Its a 2MB script file T___T....

Hmmm, it's great to know there's more and more ^_^. Honestly, in the recent years, it's really grown, the English fanmade VN releases (original or translated). A few years ago, we had... none, actually.

As for epic length, I'm a bit divided on the issue. While I do enjoy a "proper-length" work, I don't like TOO much of it. I mean, what can you say with 2MB of script that you can't say with 1MB? And editing it, that's a lot of nerve - especially since eiting is so unrewarding and takes immensely long :( Editing should die or something ^ _^

I really wish editing could die too T_T...

But alas, the translator is a native Japanese given him extremely fast translation speed, but unfortunately not so "flowing" English. But I guess thats where the editor steps in ^^;;.

As for what could be said in a 2MB script file... frankly, I don't know either >.>;;. I haven't started on it and probably wont start tackling it till next weekend.

Depending on how you define few, we had no releases, doujin or commercial released from fans at all =D.

That wasnt al|together though. Dejavu just recently translated that in their own time, way after the festival ^^. But it is a good title still (supposedly, though I haven't played it myself, but others have given it good marks).

Just got Shooting Star Hill downloaded and started going through it. It's got a very nice story.

Misu, here's an idea...can you include on the webpage the total count of the number of translated games if it's not too inconvenient for you?

Total Ren'Py games: 33
Total translated doujin downloads: 27 (it looks like the visualnews listing is complete, though I haven't double-checked)

OEL >> translated...proof that it may be easier to just make your own game than to translate one (For the sake of friendly competition...just kidding :D )

But your not counting demos and fully translated games!

As from the doujin perspective, yes, VN is a complete list. We are missing a couple commercial things though that I havent gotten around to putting up or don't have permission too.

Which game is that? I wouldn't mind taking a peek at the original work.

Maybe the Kuro No Tsuki VN translation. The game is actually very long, I wouldn't hesitate to call it full-length (even though it's not what they call "epic" or worse, lengthy). And it came out in 2004, which makes it the first full-length commercial English VN translation ever, at least for me ^_^.

As for other full VNs that are translated, I don't know that many more. (apart from Shii's list). Maybe Pretty Girl Mariko. Are there more such games translated (beyond demo)? If so, I'd love to know about them.

VisualNews has the most complete list of commercial games (excluding one BL title I still havent gotten around to uploading yet) also. The only commercial games not on our servers are ones we are not allowed to talk about yet or ones still under development (and one title that the group decided they didn't want distributed anymore).

Shooting Star Hill was cute ^__^... Okay, it's mostly because I have a crush on the girl XD... They draw her so sweet ;3;...

Ohkay... I know I shouldn't resurrect a dead thread but does anyone have the Japanese version of "Midsummer haze". All the links: links provided in Insani's patch, the author's site, etc, etc., are all down.
