Got hired as an artist for a commercial game, then the employer disappeared off of the internet (despite having a contract with everyone's legal names etc.) Haven't heard from them in over six months.

Ah, well, guess that's the indie scene. At least I have said artwork for my portfolio.

Was able to salvage most of the UI updates for Delicatessen in less than a week... which is a good thing.

Problem is... two days of Elisa's script is gone for good.

So, I was looking for some free stock photos of food to use in Cafe Memoria.

Found this site called Stock Free Images, assuming as the name implies, the images are free to download and use. Tried to download an image, then it asks me to register. Uh, okay, sure, so I did. And then I tried downloading again, and guess what? It asks for my credit card number to start my free trial subscription.

In other words, it's not really free! I didn't register on the site to give away my credit card number for some stupid subscription. "Free" my ass. :x

Yeah, I've looked for Creative Commons / Public Domain photos and found some that are pretty decent. But the majority of them... well, are pretty mediocre. I'm not exactly fond of spending money, but I guess I have to if I were to find ones that fit my needs. They can get pretty expensive, even for low-res photos, ugh.

Hope you start doing regular backups of your project.

I threw out five months of work out the window, and I haven't felt this refreshed and relieved in ages.

Working on it again, I've managed to condense it a lot. At some point, I felt like I hated writing parts of the work, but now I've cut all those scenes from the outline. Feels good.

It felt weird... after being asleep for one whole week (Literally... actually, 6.5 days to be exact)... I don't remember the details but it's like an OELVN inside my head with me as the protagonist... actually, a more FABULOUS version of me where I can walk again with no ailments or diseases whatsoever while I smoke and chug alcoholic drinks with no consequences and I was in some Japanese High School doing weird yet fun things I love like tossing plastic bags half filled with piss / water / paint and... never mind it's all fuzzy at this point... and now I'm back at the land of the living....

OHIO GO SAY MUST!
I think it means Good Morning in Japanese...

"POOF" (Disappe.... No, not today!)

God that's such a bummer. Paid gigs can be so hard to come by and it's always tripley annoying when people run off after supposedly sealing the deal.

Unrelated: I get so impatient to be a part of a NanoReNo this time of year...then march rolls around and I have no free time. Why can't it happen more than once a year for the out of school folks like me?

Being a school guy myself. (Hopefully I'll graduate out of it by 2015 which at that time I won't still be able to attend NanoReno) Well there's a recent suggestion somewhere in the forum to have another forum-related game jam.

There are spiders everywhere.
It's creeping me the fuck out, cause they are huge. And big, and scary and urrrrrg.

And I'm not even the one in the house with Arachnophobia. My poor Mum is shitting herself over these spiders ;~;

Be thankful that you're not in Australia. Spiders there kill you (literally).

Lol I'd be shitting myself as well. I hate spiders.

Also I'm coding a website right now and nothing seems to be working right. *sigh*

I just realized... am I writing an otome game? since my game allows the player to choose the main character among three female leads.

Isn't a otome game a game where the mc is female and you get to chose between boys? Or am I getting confused again?
